RUSLING??? when do we find out the extent of his injury?

i really hope its a 3-4 week thing... i dont wanna see this kid end up like walker or davidson!!! good luck kid!

In today's paper it said he'd have scans tomorrow. I though he was supposed to be having them on Monday, then today. Can't C'wood afford to take him to a private clinic?

Hopefully it's not as bad as it looked.

Gee guys i only hope its a minor 3-4 week injury, but just taking a guess after seeing rusling fall after being crunched in the tackle,it didn't look good, and the fact the pies are taking a while to diagnose the extent of the injury it looks more a 10 -15 week lay off.I really hope not,but all indicators point that way.
So who gets elevated if rusling does go on the long term injury list?
He has great potential rusling, but year after year he copps the same injury.Hope he recovers quickly.Look on the brighter side, if the injury is long one,we can keep him in cotton wool then unleash him during the finals,it worked last year.

I was sitting right near where Rusling got hit and watched it happen. I think any footballer in that collision would have done their shoulder. It wasn't a love tap it was a massive blow and demonstrates his unfortunate luck more than anything

you normally wait until some of the swelling subsides before you scan. oh and he's probably already had the scan, now they are waiting for the results.

i thought it was today... strange.. something fishy going on here... maybe they are getting some super specialist in...

Collingwood and Rusling already know they are looking at a minimum amount so there is no rush and Rusling cannot do anything at present but rest the shoulder

Having specialist images taken requires special equipment and staff who were most likely not working until today, its not like you run off to the public hospital xray dept.

So who gets elevated if rusling does go on the long term injury list?
Probably no-one. We already have the ability to elevate a rookie after Brad Dick's injury, but by all reports we haven't. I would suggest that's because Sharrod Wellingham is being made to work his arse off to redeem himself for his pre-season drink-driving indiscretion. He is clearly the most eligible candidate for elevation, and until his 2008 form warrants it, I'd imagine that no-one will be elevated.

Doc Larkin claimed that his shoulder popped out backwards not forwards which apparently is a good thing. And it happend when his elbow hit the ground not in the collision..Given his history we can only keep our fingures crossed.

Pretty sure he said that would be the best case scenario.

But If he did it when his shoulder hit the ground then I'm pretty sure it would have popped out backwards.

Geez this bloke is unlucky.I was earmarking him for a massive season, he has the potential to cause damage to other teams

Iv had 3 shoulder dislocations and then a reco, not good, and hes had 2-3 of them!

i dont thnk this will be 3-4 wk thing. but if he had a posterior dislocation rather than the usual anterior, which is far more damaging it might only be a month or so.but the way his luck is,its hard to see it being a short term thing.

Question is, do we continue with him in the future? As much potential as he has,he cant get on the park

I think we should try and offload him, We still have Reid and Dawes.

But let's hope he can make a comeback.

It's bloody sad.

Well I've heard a lot of speculation this afternoon that he was seen leaving the club in tears, and this was followed by speculation that he has told the club/been told that his career is over.
I really hope it's untrue because he has all the attributes of being a good player and gave up a promising athletics career to come over here from SA and give it a crack.
Good luck to the kid.

I doubt they'd be telling him his career is over given he has until the end of 09 to get back on track.
But hey i could be way off.
