On the Greg Lynn committal proceedings Crown Prosecutor Mr Dickie said 'It is clear hopefully from the document, and if it's not clear from the document it's clear hopefully from the charges put before the court, that it is alleged of course that the accused acted with murderous intent when he allegedly killed the two victims.'

Lawyers for accused High Country killer Greg Lynn have flagged they will apply for a partial suppression order prohibiting reporting parts of his case.
The former Jetstar pilot is accused of murdering Russell Hill, 74, and Carol Clay, 73, who vanished while camping in the Wonnangatta Valley in the state’s northeast nearly three years ago.
On the first day of a committal hearing at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Mr Lynn’s lawyer Dermot Dann KC said defence counsel would consider applying for a suppression order prohibiting reporting parts of the case.

Cant they report on the mornings proceedings instead of stating the obvious?

Sometimes they will blog through the day but we have to find where they're doing it. It can be a bit hit and miss though, also risky on mention there could be information coming out later to go under or subject to suppression.

Are these not public hearings? I dont see why anything would need to be suppressed now.

It's already signalled.

On the first day of a committal hearing at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Mr Lynn’s lawyer Dermot Dann KC said defence counsel would consider applying for a suppression order prohibiting reporting parts of the case.

The court heard prosecutors were keen to have the contents of Lynn's initial record of interview and his original statement to police suppressed over fears they may be inadmissible when the matter goes to trial.

Here you go Terrafirma

Weed sprayer Robert Williams told the court he believed he had spoken to Mr Hill in the wilderness in the days before he was allegedly murdered.

He described Mr Hill as a 'grumpy old bugger' who later buzzed him with a drone.

'I was getting droned out,' he later told police.

Mr Williams said he saw the drone hovering over other people's campsites, which he believed were being filmed.

I thought they only arrived there late that afternoon?

So did I.

Mr Miljkovic told the court he had seen the couple as they drove slowly down a forest track within the Wonnangatta Valley in the Victorian Alps.

'They appeared to be a grandma and grandpa out for a drive,' he said through the aid of a Serbian interpreter.

The pair had been stuck behind the elderly couple as they drove slowly along the track to their campsite, which already had two vehicles parked there.

One of those cars was a white Landcruiser, the other was described as a blue Nissan Patrol - the same type of vehicle seized by police when they arrested Lynn on November 22 last year.

Mr Miljkovic said he saw the elderly couple park their car up close to the two vehicles already at the site.

He described the move as 'strange' given there was plenty of room for them to park elsewhere.

Mr Miljkovic told the court he saw the elderly couple again the following day as they returned from a graveyard situated in the remote bushland.

The pair had been headed back to their ute, which was parked by the river.

Hmm, they left early on the 19th and were supposedly setting up camp "before dark" on the 20th.

TIMELINE

March 19: Russell Hill leaves his home in Drouin with plans to visit various campsites along the Dargo River. He is seen by neighbours picking up Carol Clay from her home in Pakenham at 7.30am. Phone tracking shows the pair travelled through Heyfield and Licola to get to Wonnangatta Valley.
March 20: Mr Hill was last heard from via HF radio where he told a friend in the amateur radio community he was at Wonnangatta Station in the Victorian Alps setting up camp before dark.

Thanks Kurve. This makes sense, what I was trying to explain to Sir Loin. It sounds like Hill was annoying the shit out of people with TED his drone. Greg Lynn woudn't have taken lightly to this and would have told Hill (The Grumpy Old Bugger) to put it down. Can easily see what happened next but of course still no reason to shoot 2 people dead. Did someone say Lynn shot through Hill into Clay as well?

Sunset is 7.33pm on March 20th. This seems to suggest that they were still alive at or around that time.

To meet the Abbeyard gate sighting at 11.30pm GL must have left by around 10.30pm (it's a 1 hour drive approx from camp to Abbeyard).

Leaving a time frame of death between 7.33pm & 10pm (let's allow a min time of 30 mins for the bodies to be put in the trailer and the campsite set on fire).

Who's the other car parked at camp with GL's Patrol? This is the first time I have heard of another vehicle at the camp site.

To be fair though, the way we got the information from the blackberry sprayer was hearsay/gossip and unless it was arranged with 60 Mins prior, shouldn't have been aired as part of the official investigation.

I'll preface this by saying NO EXCUSE TO MURDER SOMEONE, but what the hell was RH doing buzzing people with his drone and (allegedly) filming them?! And campsites plural, so not just GL's. Not a great way to interact with fellow campers.

And who owned the white land cruiser already there?

Maybe something was lost in translation?

Paywalled.

One single gunshot. Really?

Interesting, isn't it? So was the gunshot to kill the first victim or the second? Punched/pushed RH maybe, who hit his head or similar, then shot CC? Or shot RH first, then used a different method to kill CC. Or the bullet through RH also hit CC? Or maybe CC was the first victim?
