No worse than Gina Reinhard and the evil Hancock clan, Murdoch, Forest, the Pratts, Woodside as well as US and European investors. Capital is globalised.
The US and Oz have treated the Pacific like shyte, being condescending and mean spirited.
The strings and hoops countries go through to obtain a pittance of development aid and post disaster recovery is a joke. On the other hand we were happy to spy on East Timor for economic gain, primarily for Woodside. Of course Downer the Minister at the time was rewarded post politics with consultancies with the company.
Meanwhile we sent off a few hundred million bucks worth of coal to Ukraine without going to tender. Of course the Oz Govt loves the coal industry. The cynic in me suggests Oz leapt in to support Ukraine because its popln are white, very conservative and we do like wars, sometimes starting them with the US and England.
China whatever its problems is not warlike like the US, England or ourselves. Aidwise they get in and do practical things. Yep there are problems with quality and sometimes the use of Chinese nationals as the majority labour force but they are in there.
