Why not have both You just reminded me of my faux pax at Haighs……… a while ago now, just before Covid I think, I was at Haighs in Mile End, at the time I was a recruiter and doing some work with them and they offered to take me around the siteand I had a packet of Fruchocs that I pulled out and did not even register what I had done…..when the guy taking me through the site just laughed at me. He told me to put that away.

Best pre-game snitty = The Strathmore.

I'm usually south of the Oval for a pre-game drink & like either The Strathmore, Gaurdsman, Taphouse (if I'm with clients) or one of the outdoor bars on Festival Plaza level...

The Gaurdsman - At the train station which follows out under the casino to the bridge to wander over to the ground. Busy but good atmosphere usually.

The Taphouse - Best view of the ground but bloody pricey!

If you look left as you walk out of the underpass from the casino toward the bridge there are often bars set up in the open for pregame. "Coopers Bar" is one. Weather permitting, they're ok!

But North Adel has heaps of options too... The Cathedral Hotel is my go to if I'm north of the oval. Great food & Swans friendly... Used to go to The Archer a fair bit too but that's def a Crows pub.

If you have kids then there's usually some pregame mascots, handouts etc at the South gate (more a Port thing but the crows do do some stuff)... unlikely to be any Swans stuff though. They are pretty 1eyed over here. Crows fans/games in particular tend to be somewhat worse than Port games in my experience... So good luck!!

Plus Peel and Leigh St for more the cocktail and wine crowd. If you're into whisky or gin, Malt & Juniper have a literal wall to choose from.
