Cleal was a centre, very burly and direct, played for Easts and Manly. Grothe was a winger, strongly built but not like Cleal. Played for Parramatta. Both played Origin and for Australia 1979-1989.

I know Crusher played for the Sea Eagles. I thought he was a forward (second rower) but used to make amazing runs up the wings carrying the balls and barging through opponents and then often unloading before being brought to ground. I don't actually remember Grothe even though he was playing at the same time as I was watching (from about the mid 80s to the very early 90s).
Cleal played both centre and second rower. Your memory doesn't fail you!
His other nickname was "Blossom".
I recall an interview when he said he'd like to find out who gave him that appellation, and have a quiet word.

I have absolutely zero interest in league these days (and for a long time). I was a Balmain fan and they killed my club. Then came SuperLeague and I left and never looked back. I don't watch Origin and couldn't tell you who the current premiers are but I remember Cronulla won a couple of years ago. I'm more than happy sticking to footy. For a second string sport I go to sumo.
Superleague killed it for me too.

I have no idea what that means. You've just taken every opportunity to pot JPK in the past, everyone was over it then and we'll react when you continue to do it. Yes he suffered when played in defence, that's on the coaches. They shouldn't have played him there.

My point is Buds case is different as he is still is Best 22 imo.
You can have that view, many disagreed. What followed was every opportunity taken by you to take shots, including personal ones.

Yeah recall watching that and thinking "ouch". I think if he was the one to stay close to home and contest when we just kick it in long, there's a spot. He can also use his body to create enough space for a mark. But you'd want the likes of Logan, Amartey to be leading, up around 50 etc.
