He's overplayed his hand so it's only a matter of time bedders, just a matter of what the cost will beWhat a Adolf clone ,sooner this greg hunt is done the better
Cleal was a centre, very burly and direct, played for Easts and Manly. Grothe was a winger, strongly built but not like Cleal. Played for Parramatta. Both played Origin and for Australia 1979-1989.I'm not sure why but I always associate Grothe with Noel 'Crusher' Cleal, who came a bit later. Were they similar players? I don't really remember Grothe - possibly just before my time.

Cleal played both centre and second rower. Your memory doesn't fail you!I know Crusher played for the Sea Eagles. I thought he was a forward (second rower) but used to make amazing runs up the wings carrying the balls and barging through opponents and then often unloading before being brought to ground. I don't actually remember Grothe even though he was playing at the same time as I was watching (from about the mid 80s to the very early 90s).
His other nickname was "Blossom".Cleal played both centre and second rower. Your memory doesn't fail you!
There's an NRL thread going along, feel free to join in NRL - NRL 2023 Season - Round 1
Trying to get some discussion going on for this season

I have absolutely zero interest in league these days (and for a long time). I was a Balmain fan and they killed my club. Then came SuperLeague and I left and never looked back. I don't watch Origin and couldn't tell you who the current premiers are but I remember Cronulla won a couple of years ago. I'm more than happy sticking to footy. For a second string sport I go to sumo.
No-one needs a drive-by on JPK. He's retired, get over it.Of course Bud plays. Not as critical as he was but still bloody useful.
Totally different to a jpk situation where he was too slow and a liability in transition footy.

I have no idea what that means. You've just taken every opportunity to pot JPK in the past, everyone was over it then and we'll react when you continue to do it. Yes he suffered when played in defence, that's on the coaches. They shouldn't have played him there.Beg your pardon. Forgot you're the Barrett of the joint

You can have that view, many disagreed. What followed was every opportunity taken by you to take shots, including personal ones.He should have retired in 2021. Your ignorance qualifies you to write for Fox Footy.
My point is Buds case is different as he is still is Best 22 imo.

That's why people will react when you take another crack (albeit not personal in this case) after he's retired.
Personal against JPK. I don't get how that's ok, just because other footy fans disagree with you.Never personal until I was repeatedly attacked by fan Bois like you..
I was completely vindicated as 2022 unfolded. Still waiting for your apology
Tragically the wonderful career of JPK ended in ignominy with completely out of character violence.
Rubbish.. thought he was wrong to play on and said it. sue me.Personal against JPK. I don't get how that's ok, just because other footy fans disagree with you.
You won't be getting an apology.
At times you called him selfish, lazy. Neither are remotely true for JPK.Rubbish.. thought he was wrong to play on and said it. sue me.

Yeah recall watching that and thinking "ouch". I think if he was the one to stay close to home and contest when we just kick it in long, there's a spot. He can also use his body to create enough space for a mark. But you'd want the likes of Logan, Amartey to be leading, up around 50 etc.One passage of play on the weekend solidified my view that McLean faces an uncertain future:
The sight of Frost sprinting past him with absolute ease.
I’m just not sure modern AFL forwards can thrive without a reasonable burst of speed. Hawkins perhaps - but I can’t think of too many others.
Which is personal. And something that many of us disagree with, because it's not something that JPK is.Selfish to play on
