We booted a very poor leader and a player whose ability was starting to drop off for a KPF with a 7-10 year career ahead of him.

Definitely worth the punt and in a year or two, the cash won't matter one bit.

You got a steal for Griffin. Toxic to the club, so at least you got something in return. I think Bulldogs are closer to a flag that GWS.
Thanks L_E, at least someone can see the value in a trade we essentially HAD to make.

I'm not sure on their game style to be honest .
Seems to be a lot of space in their games with players running forward . Not sure in the heat of September that works .

Reports that they'll win most of the next 10 premierships are greatly exaggerated. They'll be lucky to get more than two!

I would tend to agree. I also think they're overly reliant on Shaw and Mumford and are gettable if you keep them quiet (which is difficult but possible).

The good thing is we'll get to see how they perform in finals soon enough. Their brand is pretty good to watch, but can it stand up across 3-4 weeks of tough footy? If it does, then they'll be scary for a few years.....

Damn, this is bad news but potentially very exciting. Hopefully we can get Jeremy Cameron as part of a deal. I have a bad feeling we might go after Tom Boyd because a little birdie told me that Jason McCartney approached Liam Pickering earlier this year and suggested that we have interest in Boyd.

Good ol' Internet Explorer lag

**** this guy.

Poor leadership breeding poor results. Finishes his career at a club with no culture, no past and a future that's only built on the handouts from the AFL.

Go Dogs.

Was great to see Clay Smith put his body on the line and knock Judas off balance which let Daniel in to kick that crucial goal just before 3QT :)

I wish Ryan no ill will.

Hope he enjoys watching the GF on TV - unless he's off hunting swine...

Wrong guy wrong place wrong time. Loved Griff as a player had massive reservations on him as a captain. Think more blame for poor choices should be layed at someone else's feet. BM

Don't go for this (blame for offering him captaincy). 99% of us all wanted him as captain before the fact. Would have been outrage if it was anyone else at the time. Just one of those things - none of us realised he'd be such a pea heart.

Am I the only person who still likes Griffen and doesn't begrudge him leaving? I'm not sad that he is gone but I certainly don't hold it against him. To be honest none of us will know the entirety for his reasons but it was clear that we were never going to achieve anything under Macca. It's a bit worse to leave when you're captain, but who says he ever even wanted to be captain? Footy careers are short, go where you're gonna be happy and/or make the most money.

Still feel pissed/disappointed by him. But I do also feel a bit sorry for him now, which I didn't used to. This is like counselling...must be the GF emotions :p
