The West Coast Wonders are at home this week to the East Side Hawks in a battle of the 'who cares cup'. The Hawks have lost 3 of their past 4 games and the Wonders have been deplorable this season. The Hawks are on the cusp of the top 8 with a 3-4 record and will be looking to force their way in. The Wonders are dead last on the ladder with a measly percentage of just 78.18. Their one win this season was against the Las Vegas Bears but apart from that, they have had the biggest Premiership hangover since Hawthorn of '09.
Last Week
The Wonders got pummelled by the Bandits and were left gobsmacked. There was nothing the Wonders could do by wonder what might have been, had they not lost skipper PVF mid week. This decision clearly through the Wonders off their game as they got outscored in every quarter last week. Giving up 19 goals to 10 after quarter time is not going to help a title defense. The Wonders look dead and buried this season and croweater 41 has already hinted that they are more worried about recruiting for next season.
The Hawks are still on the cusp of making finals at this point. They need a few things to go their way but a win here against the Wonders will go a long way to assuring that. A narrow loss last week to the Gumbies can be overcome this week as they will be firm favourites in what is shaping up to be a low scoring affair.
This Week
What more can the Wonders do? They could shake up their team completely but what good will that do? Riding out this gruelling period for them is all they can do right now. Shallow has been a shinning light this year for West Coast, the number 1 ruckman just has no one to service the ball to. If the Hawks mids can shark Shallow's taps, then the game is just about over.
Players to watch
WCW -
Shallow - The best ruckman this season has had one of the best years for his career. Leading this league in hitout and top 15 for kicks, Shallow had been providing pristine service for the Wonders mids who just haven't taken full advantage of it. If Shallow can somehow lift his midfielders to his level, then the Wonders are in with a chance.
jjsmitty8 - The Luke Bruest of the SFA, small forward who has kicked 13 goals this year with only 1 blemish. Been starved of opportunity due to the fat croweater 41 hogging the entire forward line and even stealing the ball of smitty just to kick a point. If jj can get some room to operate this week, he will be dangerous.

Dagless - Leading disposal winner for the Hawks this season with only 129 total touches. 26th in the league. The Hawks need a consistent ruckman because when the ball is in Dag's hands, he is a very good user of the qootball. Expect him to be sharking Shallow all day.
Tarkyn_24 - The full forward who some believe is past his time. The ageless Tarks is going around again and has 19 goals for the season. Having less than 4 shots a game, the Hawks midfielders need to get this man the ball deep in the square because one out he is a great contested mark and an even better goal kicker.
Prediction
My tip is the Hawks by 33 points, the whole East Side midfield will step up and jjsmitty will kick 5.
