HOW THIS CAME TO BE
The Roys ended up 3rd after the regular season with an 11-4 record, their most wins in a season since they went 12-10 in S7 and their best winning percentage in a regular season in the club’s history. A controversial final minor round victory over the Wonders was not enough to give them the percentage boost for a home final against the same club, but they overcame the unfriendly surrounds of the Colosseum to slam home 25 goals and record their highest finals score, and highest ever score vs the Wonders en route to a 47 point drubbing. A week off to watch their potential opponents leaves them refreshed and raring to go.
The Dragons stormed to the minor premiership with a 12-4 record, The clubs’ highest number of H&A wins sincethey went 15-6 in S10, and the best seasonal winning percentile in the club’s history. They pinched the Millky Cup off the Wonders with a final round H&A victory over the Furies for their club-record seventh consecutive win, and third minor Premiership. However, finals are a different ballgame, and they came crashing back to Earth with a thud in their Qualifying final with the East Side Hawks, crumbling to a 46 point defeat. They regrouped in the Semi-Final, eliminating the Baghdad Bombers with a comprehensive third term culminating in a 21 point victory.
