I wrote a bunch of simple QBasic programs, Qooty is the only one I kept developing because it got this traction here on Bigfooty.

Yeah I wrote it in QBasic originally, and in about 2007 was able to port it over to QB64, a kind of crowd-run upgrade.

QB64 is a modern extended BASIC programming language that retains QBasic/QuickBASIC 4.5 compatibility and compiles native binaries for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

This is the oldest version I still have any record of (that record being just this photo of the disk lol)

I didn't mind Qbasic, as computers sped up , the things that were wrong with old basic pretty much went away.

I wrote a program in Basic to calculate the payroll for my parents business ( Apple 2e I think ). Was pretty simple, basically adding up the information from clock cards, and working our how much was overtime. Couldn't get the tax formula at the time, so still had to input it from the printed tables.
Now days all i do is the odd Excel macro.
