I would have thought Muddiemoose would have been on this list. I am sure he will have something to say about this.

Absolute madness.I would have thought Muddiemoose would have been on this list. I am sure he will have something to say about this.
WhoopsIt's the Rising Star mate, not the EKA.
Na this is the award for pissant clubs that give their rookies prime on field possie’s without making them earn itHow the F do you forget a big ass posting moose with sunglasses?
Bloody terrible decision but Congrats Bradesmaen.View attachment 934191
Hi all, and welcome to the second nomination for this season's Gun of the Year!
We saw some sensational qooty performances from this season's rookies. Some really ordinary ones too, but this nomination is for what Tom Skerritt described so eloquently to the Top Gun recruits as "the elite, the best of the best". So who did the Committee consider for this week's nomination?

Bear cub tony noticed the effect a Gun of the Week nomination had on teammate guero and put in a sterling effort as a rebounding half back flanker, helping himself to 21 touches and 8 marks to aid the Las Vegans to victory. He didn't receive this week's nomination, although with performances like that we may well see his name pop up again in Committee discussions.

That leaves us with two candidates whose performances appear at first glance to be poles apart, however when you take into account the positions they filled in their respective teams the performances become much closer. So close in fact that for a while there the Committee room resembled Taiwanese Parliament.
Young Hawk 11kgm backed up his round one performance with 3 goals from 8 forward pocket possessions to pull his side to victory. Seriously, I haven't seen the Baghdadi defence beaten up that much since January 1991. The five behinds were a bit of an issue, but the ARSE loves a lot of behinds so his ranking rose astronomically.
The other candidate was the mustachioed Dublin Dragon Bradesmaen. Playing on a wing (a good position for a Dragon to have), Bradesmaen brought his own qootball to the match where he was arguably BOG with 40 possessions, six marks and a goal. To put that in context, having forty possessions in a qooty match happens maybe a couple of times across the SFA each season. This guy did it in his second match.
Both were considered worthy winners. So we took the decision to Committee:

Debate raged for literally hours as the irresistible force of Bradesmaen's generational performance was pitted against the immovable object of 11kgm's superior ARSE. It was only thanks to the Non-Executive Chairperson and their casting vote that prevented civil war and, more importantly, gave us our second Gun of the Week nomination. So please give it up for this week's nominee - Bradesmaen!

I sat down with Bradesmaen and his captain AceAndy to discuss the nomination. First I spoke with the captain of the Dragons:
Bob: Hey there Andy, congrats on keeping the winning start to your season going, and to have one of you recruits nominated for the Gun of the Week. How does it feel?
Andy: Feels good to get off to a flying start with a couple of W's and it has been especially pleasing that the new players at the Dragons have been driving the on-field success. Any qooty player that has 40 disposals is definitely the Gun of the Week.
Bob: The Committee agree with you there. Congrats on getting Bradesmaen to Dragon Island. He's a good get from the Freo board, there's been some decent players from there in the past season or so such as reigning Rising Star winner PurpleGreenRed, Cesoir, bone2468, jusjoshin, your very own serial_thrilla and yours truly. Where did you find him, and how is he settling in?
Andy: I am pretty sure one of the recruiting staff spotted Bradesmaen wandering around the Sweet FA and picked up on the fact he was an Everton supporter and Knifey Spoony was admanant this was a good thing so we left no stone unturned to sign him up.
Bradesmaen is the only Dragon residing outside of Australia but reports from OS say he is training the house down and is so dedicated he gets up at 5:30 on Sunday mornings to catch the Dragons match being posted (this may or may not be true).
Bob: Where on the ground have they been playing, and what are your on-field aspirations do you have for them?
Andy: Started both matches this season on the wing and taken the opportunity in both hands and hard to see him being displaced after a 40 disposal effort last week. At the Dragons we don't lock all the premium positions to established players and like to give new players a run where they can see their name getting mentioned in the Sim , we think this is vital for engagement of newer players.
Bob: Astute choice. Wings get the bling after all! What other young’uns have you brought to the club, and are there any rookies from other teams that you wish you had gotten your hands on that go alright at qooty?
Andy: We have been lucky this season in that we have been able to bring five rookies into the club and besides Bradesmaen we have VandoHawk who hit the ground running and how he wasn't the Gun of the Week in round 1 is a bit of a mystery. T2B_ MC Bad Genius and Gosaints12 are all up and about and I expect them to feature prominently in this award in the coming weeks.
There has been some great on-field performances already from the season 30 rookie group and I thought tony and 11kgm were very good and great to see a couple of the Blues posters BLUEALLTHRU and RobR enjoying the Sweet FA.
Thanks Andy! Now over to the Dragon of the Day:
Bob: Hello Bradesmaen. Congratulations on receiving the second season 30 Gun of the Week nomination. Quite a performance you put together, impressive to watch at close quarters. What path did you take to get to the SFA, and where did you first hear about it?
Bradesmaen: I was first approached by the Vampires who were bidding to enter the SFA in Season 30. I looked into it more deeply and decided I wanted to partake in the league, so as soon as The Dragons came calling I jumped in.
Bob: What are your first impressions of the place? Are AceAndy & the Dragons looking after you?
Bradesmaen: It's a rough and tough place, but the Dragons have taught me well and how to deal with the snipers.
Bob: Kevlar and sprinting works for snipers. How do you prepare for a qooty match?
Bradesmaen: A pregame beer and some finger exercises.
Bob: Sounds like you'd excel at professional tickling too with that routine. What would you like to achieve on the field during your SFA career?
Bradesmaen: Premierships and Best Player awards, but team results always come first at the Dragons.
Bob: 2-0 is a good start. Have there been any other teams that have stood out for you on the field, or players that you model your qooty on?
Bradesmaen: I would probably model myself on serial_thrilla, he's a great team mate to follow on from.
Bob: Yeah he's alright. Who else do you think will win the Gun of the Year, and the overall Rising Star? Reckon you’re a shot?
Bradesmaen: Well I think my teammate VandoHawk is probably the best chance other than me so far, so if I don't win I'd like him to win. I reckon I have a good shot though.

Cheers Bradesmaen and best of luck for the rest of the season. Hopefully you haven't peaked yet like pundits such as Barrybran have inferred.
Two rounds down, fourteen to go. Who will feature next in the Gun of the Year nominations? Stick around and find out.
Bloody terrible decision but Congrats Bradesmaen.
The anti bears sentiment shown this week towards the best rookies in the comp is disgusting.Bloody terrible decision but Congrats Bradesmaen.

I would but I have been told the sim is rigged.Play better then.
Don’t worry tony.I would but I have been told the sim is rigged.
Request for a royal commission into the robbery of a weekly nomination of "Gun of the Year" from 11kgm
They have but in two BOG performances in a row and have yet to receive the recognition deserving of that

Bradesmaen: I would probably model myself on serial_thrilla, he's a great team mate to follow on from.
