The turd Nick Lachey is a bold choice to express your words
I didn't even know who that was. I mean I knew the name but wouldn't have been able to pick him out of a lineup

I hate horror books and movies (I never watch movies anyway) but one night i was driving back to Melbourne from Derrinal and i had a King audiobook on the CD). I was so frightened by the story I stopped at Kilmore for a milkshake.

I will never give a like to anything horror related.

This thread is as dead as the dragon players erectile dysfunctions last time they were at my brothel
So was their erectile dysfunction 'dead' which means they no longer had any erectile dysfunction?

Did your non prescriptive Viagra ( sourced from God knows where) sales plummet?

Yeah but the workers at your brothel are about as desirable as a shaved gorilla.

So I hear...

I remember when I first hooked up surround sound to my TV. I was watching X-Files when Mulder and Scully were looking for aliens in the woods and there was somebody following them. When the somebody stood on a twig and I heard it behind me I jumped!

You probably should give the Terrifier films a miss. I haven't seen the third one yet but even the 2nd one freaked me out a bit and I am a massive horror fan.

I need fictitious horror to help me believe there could be worse experiences than my own. Also considering the endless horrors of my existence it's at least a little reassuring to see someone else suffer for a change.

I think I summed it up pretty nicely a few decades ago when I wrote the following. (I have redacted the chorus as it's too crude in today's pussycat era)

Yeah, nothin' seems to have gone your way.
You're finding life a bit harsh these days.
All you're creatin', you can't help break.
You're ****in' up for ****in' up's sake.

You're not alone, this is a vice,
for which I've always paid the price.
But you'd be wrong to think that you,
would get the sympathy that's due.

Here's a surprise,
you won't see pity in my eyes.
For far too long my world's been screwed',
I've earnt the right to laugh at you.

[Chorus redacted, too crude for repeating here]
(x 4 loi)

The trouble will grow, it did for me.
Everything your needing flits out of reach.
You're favourite moment each day's goin' to bed.
And while you're sleeping you will hear me laughing.

You're not alone, this is a vice,
for which I've always paid the price.
But you'd be wrong to think that you,
would get the sympathy that's due.

Here's a surprise,
you won't see pity in my eyes.
For far too long my world's been screwed',
I've earnt the right to laugh at you.

[Chorus]

Apparently they do try to amp it up even further for the 3rd film - god they are intense. The salt/clorox scene in the 2nd one was very difficult to watch!
I wanna see "Late Night With the Devil" (same filmmaker brothers who made Scare Campaign and 100 Bloody Acres!) and also Hugh Grant's "Heretic". Might give the Moogai a look too. I'm still really enjoying the analog horror genre a lot on Youtube. Lots of derivative child efforts out there but some pearlers too!

I remember watching Hostel and being freaked out by how real it was, thinking I've stayed in places in eastern Europe that are exactly like that and I can 100% see it happening
That sure was very full-on. Gets bagged a lot of course.

Also would be keen to check this out if it gets made :D

Oh but I'd also turn off Stephen King, doesn't interest me at all. I tried reading a novel once and couldn't get through the foreword - once I got a sense of what a pretentious turd he sounded like, it was over for me.
He is a pretentious turd but he has sold a lot of books.

Late Night with the Devil is pretty good, while a bit of a slow burn at first. But good for what it is. Can't remember his name but the lead actor who also plays the Polkerdot Man in The Suicide Squad, does a great job.

His name's hard to spell. I can't even begin to try to help you with it! Yes I've heard he's great! Also seen interviews where I want to punch him a lot :D
