X Ellis = N Dal Santo. Certain top 10 selection.

yeah definite similarities there. easily their best today

really like thomas for vic country, as well as drum, both played well today. hurn didnt do a lot, but when he did, he showed what he can do when he is in form. elliott will be a player and also bode, rischbeith, bode, bennet and redden played well. i dunno if it was because SA were so impressive or vic country were not so impressive.

Ive seen Ellis playing for MGS a couple of times and it looked like he did whatever he liked. when he liked. without an opponent.
Just realised it doesnt matter if he has an opponent or not.. he just finds space.
His left foot is very creative.
Drum is a great prganiser in defence id have liked to have seen him play forward after half time and especially in the last..

Disapointing game that almost put me to sleep..

Grant Weeks?? Can anyone please tell me if he went any good yesterday? Is there a web site with stats from the game anywhere?

I was impressed today by Sam Wormald. his 2nd and 3rd efforts were great.
Ellis was also good although he had a habbit of turning the ball over a bit by foot.
Vic Country just absolutely lost it across the HF line. The SA backline was strong. I'm not prepared to have a blast at VC as i suspect they will come out strong against Metro on Wednesday.

dunno which game u were watching but his foot skills were good if not great. very very light the only questions on ellis imo.

dale thomas foot skills were pretty sub par, which would see him drop a little, but geez he has pace.

Handball backward to a teammate that had two players on his hammer and a baulk when he should have kick were the only two errors that I remember.

Saw bits and pieces on the replay after I got home last night.

Very impressed with Elliott, Redden, Hughes. I'll need to see more of Hurn before I judge.

Hansen will be an exciting prospect next year, as will Selwood.

Still not convinced on Drum.

I'd be quite happy with Ellis at Hawthorn.

I thought Fraser up forward gave a contest everytime he went near the ball.... only a matter of time before Driscoll learn's to play at Frasers feet and become a dangerous player and give the Vic's something up forward...

He got dragged back to the goalsquare by his opponent a couple of times and was outdone in a couple of contests. They were very quick to get him away from there and back onto the half back line which is his comfort zone.

No confusion Josh Eddy No 5, I thought he was ordinary as was most of his Country teammates. I was sitting next to Leigh Matthews and another guy who also thought Eddy was ordinary but your entitled to your opinion.

Obviously Vic country have payed the price for poor forward selection with not including geelong falcon Jake McGuane as he as stared and turned games around for the falcons also hitting red hot form on the last 4 games and has not played a poor game yet very consistant and I'de say Vic Country took the wrong forwards as Neagle and fraser i thought were not up to it...

i would have to agree with you tiger14 Mcguane has been best on for falcons for the last 4 weeks taking great grabs and also going into the ruck to get plenty of hitouts very stiff not to make vic country

Wormald played fairly well he got alot of hanballs out and atacked the footy well.

Josh eddy, another falcon did his job well, his opponent hardly got a touch and when eddy got the ball it always hit someone on the chest.

Tell that to Lethal Leigh. Perhaps that's why he a coach and not a recruiter ;)

pieman, Matthews was sitting next to Kinnear Beatson so "the other guy" you referred to would probably be the Lions Recruiting manager.

Some bloody photographer spent 5 minutes clicking on his camera to get that photo of Matthews for today's Herald Sun. Certainly was p i s s i n g me off as he was standing in my way...I don't think they have a lot of respect for anyone these photographer people. Rather strange people if you ask me.

McGuane really stuck it up the selectors last week, going back to the Falcons and having over 30 possesions, taking 17 marks and kicking 4.6 from centre half forward. Not too bad of a performance really.
