Choco being shown the door after winning a ship and making another gf unceremoniously, then this guy who has done absolutely nothing having bread and games and a week of state enforced mourning.

Very on brand for the David Koch era.

Carr getting pushed aside and someone else taking over when stinkley leaves?

Carr is 100% going to be the next senior coach.

I think carr will be fine although I would have preferred a process in case someone fell into our lap who was elite but as long as Josh is given the same free reign ken has add in terms of choosing assistants etc. Carr definately has more footy Intel than donuts

I'm good with this. Should have transitioned earlier but Carr will be a good coach.

The interesting thing to watch will be the team of assistants that he has around him.

is there any chance that its Hinkly pulling the pin and retiring effective immediately?

Pissing off the Ken stans coz hes going,
getting a meh from us #Sackhinkleyers

and all around torpedoing the 2025 season right off of the bat coz hes doing it February and not October like horse did?

He wants to have another crack at it.

Hinkley must liken the AFL and winning a flag to the laughing clown heads at the Royal Show.

It'll be interesting the way the media spins it. I daresay crybaby Kenny will have the Kleenex ready if the media start to turn.

They'll give 2026 to Carr for half a season then Ken is back in the hot seat for the pointy end + finals because he has more experience.
"Good clubs don't normally sack coaches midseason" - D. Koch, 2026 probably

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I agree with the Club's decision to keep Hinkley for Season 2025. My reasoning for this is Hinkley has taken us to the top 4 in four of the past five seasons, and you have to be in it to win it. Sure we've struggled in finals, but Choco's sides did too and Choco had a 2-7 record in finals heading into Season 2004. If Choco could get it right in finals than Hinkley can too.

But Choco at least had some footy savvy to fall back on.
And he actually learnt from his mistakes.

Congrats on your first post being an absolute Barry Crocker

Choco had much better Assistant Coaches, it's just a shame that Clarkson gutted our Football Department after he went to Hawthorn. I think we should surround Hinkley with better Assistant Coaches as the likes of Sutcliffe, Lobbe, Cornes and Hartlett aren't exactly inspiring names that other clubs would want on their Coaching Panel. It's hard to soar like an Eagle when you're surrounded by Turkeys.

For a long time lurker you really haven’t read the room, have you.

Thank you for having the bravery to say what many of us are quietly thinking 🙏

An interesting proposition. What if Hinkley is good now?

Just...one...more...season.

BLOODY TRUE THIS!!

I don't think it's a coincidence that he's been surrounded by less than impressive assistants. Could easily see him feeling threatened.

I actually wouldn't put it past the club at this point to name something after Ken. Kosch has already labeled him our most successful coach. If you follow that line through logically, why not let him go on his own accord? Why not name a stand or something after him? Something like that would stamp our bonafides as the most un-self-aware club in the history of the game.
