I'm still angry about the Richmond game in Round 4. If we miss finals by a game and that loss costs Ken his job, it would be fitting.

The GWS game makes me angrier. We went into that game with a forward structure we'd used multiple times and failed with multiple times. And we had options.

The Round 4 Richmond game, we hadn't failed multiple times with said forward structure yet. Despite everything against the Lions we probably would've won if we'd kicked straight in the first 3 quarters of the game. Brisbane would've been 5 goals down at 3/4 time instead of still in the game.

Also in the round 4 game, Frampton was suspended from previous SANFL game and so the SANFL forward option was Marshall. And Marshall hadn't played well at all in the previous SANFL game.

What's worse is when we do have forward options, but choose to put Dixon on the wing, Marshall is god knows where. Making way for Robbie Gray or Sam Gray to be our leading talls.

That was an all time coaching performance.
1. Coming up against a side low on confidence, talk yourself down during the week - “uncomfortable being favorites”
2. Select a poorly structured side that hides the oppositions deficiencies
3. Make no changes during the game despite being slaughtered for playing poorly structured football
4. Post game say how far in front as a club the opposition are

What a fraud.

The option was the one we used so successfully in the West Coast game after the R4 Richmond loss where we spent the entire final quarter kicking it to the Tigers' defenders. What Hinkley called 'dirty footy' from memory where against West Coast the the ball entries up forward were meant hit the ground and couldn't be directly intercepted. If deliberate and not a cover for poor skills it was fantastic. We only had to win 2 or 3 of the ground ball contests and convert and we were better off than any other of our games v WC in recent years. Yet we've never done it again, GWS was just a replay of R4. I mean I swear sometimes we didn't even have a forward near where the GWS defenders were when we kicked in. An absolutely coach-free game IMO.

As much as we want Kenny gone, you can't deny, the players love playing for him.
We've had many players sign-on this year under him, with plenty of belief in him still remaining in most of our players.
It's a shame, hopefully, our next coach will have an equal or greater amount of personal connection with the players and group.

Yes they have appeared confused for years now.
It’s like he has been trying to get an edge but has just ended up doing the exact opposite.

I want Ken gone as much as the next person, but Bickley said something the other night to Tredders which resonated with me.

He said, "Hinkley knows he has conditional clauses in his contract where he must make finals in order to unlock the 2021 year. Hinkley could have just kept Wingard and Polec (both contracted) and pushed to make the 8 and play it safe for his own benefit, yet he got rid of those two and blooded kids all year risking his own future at the club, in the attmept to better the overall future of the club"

Bickley actually has a point here. I think Ken actually does care about the club despite some people on here thinking otherwise, but he just doesn't have the nous of a good coach to take the club where it needs to be.

I'd be more interested in what Tredders thought about that.

It's just a coincidence that all this new information emerges right as pressure to sack Hinkley reaches unchartered territory, right? **** Hinkley and **** his slimy manager.

Media can say or do what they want it wont change the decision of the board. If the board wants ken out hes out. If they want to keep him he will stay they are not going to be swayed by commentators or kens manager. For the record i think hes gone

Too simplistic. If we had a reliable and consistently productive forward structure we'd play it every week. He experimented with Howard and it worked a bit. He persisted with a mostly terrible Marshall and eventually got some results which might pay off in the future. He brought Dixon back and is trying to make him functional. And so on. Robbie Gray is probably the only forward we have who has any consistency.

Something significant is happening behind the scenes. Read into it what you like, but the fact that KT has flown out to China on short notice, & multiple board members including Kochie & KT, have pulled out of pre-scheduled media commitments makes me think change is in the air.

I think the end is much closer then people think.

News flash a forward structure is simple & young key forwards need to be backed in for more than a fortnight.
Frampton should've been playing until Dixon was ready with either Marshall or Howard.

I forgot Frampton but yeah that was another development play and/or experiment with the forward line and in general I give credit for that.
