When I think back to 2007, all I remember is the shellacking I witnessed at the G that day, not how many wins nor our finals victories. The embarrassment and the fallout affected the club for many years. The loss last week was unacceptable on every level. Week off, home ground, no travel, wounded opponent. If Hinkley thinks otherwise he's deluded. He was arrogant, rude and beligerent in his interview. Would have loved to have seen Tredders' face.

He'd still be there if China nuked Adelaide.
Which is exactly what they’re planning to do now that Dexter Dutton has torpedoed the French in preference to the Yanks and the Poms. Bye bye Ken.

Rowie: "On your preparation, is there anything you would change?"
Hinkley: "No, don't think there's anything we could change"

Nothing we could change? We got absolutely pumped in the first quarter to the point of abject embarrassment and there's NOTHING we could change?
So nothing in the preparation and he's not said squat about any changes he'd have made on the night.... So basically, this man has absolutely no effect on the game whatsoever. I actually believe that. Hence to the question whether he was out coached and he sarcastically replied that "he was a genius two weeks ago".. no Ken, nobody said you were a genius two weeks ago. It's was all the players. Just as it was all the players against the Bulldogs, just like it was all the players for every game this year. So why have a coach at all? Well... why have you as a coach Ken? You can't come out and say that you'd do nothing different after a pumping like that and expect people to still place any value on what you do at all...
Imagine he was a pilot.

Ken you've managed crash your plane in the same manner over a dozen times now killing hundreds of people in the process. Would you change anything next time?

In fact imagine he failed repeatedly in any other job and kept getting his contract extended

The word I am hearing is that it has far more to do with the disrespect shown with throwing tea over his shoulder then a few pesky subs.

Somebody needs to be ultimately responsible for what happens on game day. That person should have final say at selection and a decent say in player contracts. If they can't perform don't play them. Don't contract them. Trade them. There's no point having a team that's a fantastic home and away season team but fails at finals. If you're not willing to do that as coach, then you get what you deserve. No way am I taking a whack n the media when players continually don't do what we agreed to do. So we can assume the players that are contracted, the players that play, are there because Ken wants them there. So he's ultimately responsible. If he has no impact on game day, then maybe we can save some money and take the percentage of pay we pay you for game day and whack it up in some incentive based contracts for the players. Across the board. Maybe that will motivate them if Ken can't? Why would the board want anyone at that club that doesn't believe that as a collective they can win a premiership?

Problem with Ken is, he thinks he's doing a good job, he thinks he's getting good results and probably feels like all the hatred towards him is ignoring the results he's getting. So he is getting visibly upset.

Problem is, we don't just want a coach that gets good results, we're seeking GREAT results.

Hinkley is a solid coach, he was clearly out of his depth early but has no doubt improved. The problem is that long term coaches that don't deliver lose respect and the players underneath them get complacent. They also don't excite the fans. We need a spark, we've needed it for years, to trigger that something else that is missing. Getting a new coach may fail to generate it, who knows we could go backwards, but at least we would've tried. Right now we're just sitting in the comfort zone for our players and coaches, refusing to rock the boat.

Also Ken
"That was so far removed from us and what we do and are about that it's hard to analyse "

Ummmm, no. It's not. This shit happens regularly. We've been blown out in patches by Brisbane in our last 4 games against them. We have been blown away early V WB the last 3 times we've played them. Any time we play a top side recently we saw these spankings, especially early game blow outs. Hell the Bombers were doing it to us all the time a little while back. Even against St Kilda we had a 4 goal to 1 term, but they absolutely dominated the play. We just got lucky.

This trend of 1st terms has been evident all year and far longer.

IT IS US!!!!

Ken Hinkley was the right man in 2012 to come in and take the controls of the ship, straighten things up, instill some solid standards and work ethic, and get the club moving in the right direction. The problem is it should only have been for 3 years before moving on and allowing a top quality coach to come in and finish the job.

But a decade later he's still here. He's like the annoying friend who comes over to watch TV, raid your fridge, and is still there when all you want to do is go to bed.

Everytime chelsea loses under tuchel , he takes all the blame saying I must of not prepared the team properly.

Ken always blames someone else, the fact the players like him is truly baffling
Not baffling at all.

Hinkley is using the players as hostages.

Every coach on their way out pulls the same trick.

Finally someone above him wakes up.

In our case the waking up is seasons overdue already, and will probably continue until, suddenly … he’s gone.

Kenny denies knowing fans who are negative against him. His view that record membership numbers counteract any negatively from so called fans. If you want Ken Hinkley gone then don't renew your membership. Simples!
If those inside the club truly think that it is a small minority unhappy with Ken they are deluding themselves.

I would estimate that up to 70-80% of the regular members are somewhat disenchanted at different levels.

The atmosphere at our games has completely eroded over the last few years. The noise for several years has been made more in disappointment at play. Large gasps of ahhhh, constantly. Our games are boring as bat shit to watch, and most of the time are just more about watching a clumsy game plan luck out.

People are aware, people are unhappy. The happy clapper vocal group I would say are completely the minority.

Literally the last game I've watched on replay was the 2015 1st term V Hawthorn, I wouldn't bother with anything we've seen since.

I don't know if sacking Hinkley is going to fix our issues. I don't know if it's the right decision. I do know about the process of elimination and that there's only so many times you change the team and the assistant coaches and still deny blame. I also know that the media is full of crap. Look at some of the coaches they've lynched this year, and yet for Port we still get the "But what about Dimma?" type garbage. Like Dimma was immaculately conceived as coach of Richmond and the bloke before him didn't get the sack. If Richmond stuck with him, Dimma wouldn't be coach. It's laughable. It eliminates all nuance from the conversation. If winning a premiership is just a matter of time, why do coaches get the big bucks? They'll worship at the Alistair Clarkson altar while condemning us for asking more of our coach after 10 years? How dare we! It's not personal, it's the hypocrisy. Are we not entitled to expect better? Maybe not?....

Edit: Just in case I'm accused of being ignorant of the irony, "Sack Hinkley" isn't exactly nuanced either.

You are right. You don’t know.
