Kane as often been critical of the club and he's absolutely right, you can't sack a coach in round 5. It has to be done towards the end of the season.

Even if a club decides early on that the coach is gone, they won't do it early in the season. It will look unprofessional and panic laden.

Even if we're 0-10, I can't see him being sacked until about round 15.

I say roll the dice now. It can't get any worse.

Looks much more professional to have players running around like headless chooks following a game plan that's worse than something a 3 year old could draw with a crayon. Get rid of him

I’m gonna need a blood pressure check over the coming weeks when Port people begin to abandon this clown car.

After all we’ve put up with since 2004, to be labelled ‘fickle’, ‘bandwagoners’, ‘petulant’ or ‘killing the club’, while Hinkley Inc. continues to feather their nest, will really boil my piss.
The Williams are much maligned in resent times by the port faithful, but If im being honest they've more right to swan about Queen St than Hinkley and his brood.

I wish the club had some nuts and would just sack him

If a fire starts in your kitchen are you going to immediately put it out, or wait until it spreads to another room, before engulfing the entire house?

The embers & flames being continually emitted from this charlatan need to be extinguished once & for all before he burns the club to the ground.

I agree but we know football clubs don't operate like that. Its always done towards the end of the season.

I can't think of any examples in the modern era where a coach has been sacked early on in a season.

Ken would have sent Kane a text last night. I know for a fact Ken is a bully and can’t take any negative feedback. It’s what happened with Tredders, it’s why carr and Schofield left too.

If he couldn’t take any negative feedback he would’ve already walked by now. The supporters negative feedback is ridiculously high, I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like it before, even primus in 2012 wasn’t this hated.

I actually think it’s the opposite, he doesn’t give a shit what anyone else thinks. He is arrogant. Yeah he probably likes to have guys like Kane in the media in his corner but I honestly don’t think he gives a shit about the criticism he is copping from all angles.

The fact he hasn’t already handed in his resignation due to the sheer embarrassment of an entire supporter base turning on you is telling.

He needs to be sacked because he won’t resign no matter how harsh the feedback gets.

But we need to be patient because asking for his sacking in round 3 is unrealistic.

Several coaches have been sacked around the time of the bye. We have a bye in Round 12.

I see that as when he'll go. He could go earlier if he's aware of the all time games with no GF record and doesn't want it.

I'd be verrryyyy surprised if he wasn't given a send off game because we're exactly the kind of weak club who would do that for a coach who hasn't won anything.

The only thing you cant do in life is defy the law of gravity and the laws of science.

Other stuff you can do, but sometimes you have to be prepared to pay the price.

At 0-9, 1-8 you sack him, say he wont lead us to a premiership, take any heat from the media and others, minimize the soft cap tax and start planning for 2023 and beyond and breath new life into the club and supporters hopes for the future.

And our players would lose that game. They rarely deliver on big ocassions under Hinkley.

Lol no it won't

It happens in sports around the world all the time.

Lets say we lose thursday then in round 5

Finals are impossible from that position.

If the club knows they are going to.sack him they shouldnt wait. That looks unprofessional and tacky to wait until mathematically port cant make finals

Like the real difference between him making an elimination final and being 9th is the difference between a contract or not

Sacked after round 3 is not too early considering it should have been in late 2016.
Wayne Schimmelbusch was sacked in the preseason in 1993 when Adelaide beat North by 20 goals in the Ansett Cup competition. Dennis Pagan was appointed. North made finals in a 20 game season and Final 6, but lost the 3rd v 6th final to defending premiers WCE who finished 6th, then got to 7 PFs in a row, and made 3 GFs.

Imagine if we hadn't made the unbelievably idiotic decision to extend him after the covid season where we failed at home in the prelim...

Could have parted ways positively with a thank you at the end of the Bulldogs game last year, could have even been clapped off the ground, and gone in to this season with Vossy or Schoey as head coach if we couldn't recruit anybody outside.

We didn't need to even worry about the fire in the kitchen, we could have just not left the stove on to begin with.
