The players just don't care, boak went straight for socialising after the siren joking around with the Melbourne players. And he wasn't the only one. Wines went out of his way to shake all the Melbourne players hands and have a good chin wag. They have put the cue in the rack already
Many players are religious like that, old school sportsmanship. Don't think for a second they enjoy it

Apparently after highlighting our shortcomings and suggesting a coaching change might be good I am a “backstabbing winger” and not a true fan.

I just pull the uno reverse card on these peoples asses and tell them that if they still think Ken Hinkley should be coach then they’re not true Port Adelaide supporters, I tell them to go support the crows because that’s where those types of fans belong

The Goaless Half was absolutely phenomenal. We are hitting milestones every week, I'm treating it as an Advent calendar, and hopefully the last surprise is our ultimate goal: HINKLEY SACKED.

Sadly, this is going to lead to a number of things we can no longer say about our club, like we've never had a wooden spoon, but Ken is not going until irrepreble damage is done.

Things must get worse before they can get better.

Any decent human being would've stepped down after being shown they are not capable of doing their job in less time, the fact Ken hasn't done this just makes me hate him more. He has no desire to win anything, because that would just raise the stakes, instead he's taken the long road to seek further employment. Times almost up Ken.

One day a movie or docuseries will be made about this The Great AFL Swindle about how he's gotten away with this plan over the last decade.

If we lose with a new coach then we obviously won’t just criticise him and call for his head, instead we’ll think and say that he needs some time to settle in and implement a plan. These people have no idea! they’re narrow minded individuals, they ask us what if we still lose? And believe that we’ll criticise the next coach without taking into consideration that he is a new coach because they themselves can’t take anything else except what they believe in into consideration, which for them is that the coach should always have their support no matter what! So they project their mindset onto us because they can’t grasp the fact that there are people out there who aren’t as narrow minded as they are

Look bud, the rules of the sack Hinkley thread are simple.

You come. You post sack Hinkley. You get inundated with likes.
Well, I’m not bothered about likes, I just happen to like your football club.

I heard Whateley yesterday getting stuck into “the fans”. Saying, they would sack the coach two or three times every year and that the club can’t be reacting to what they want.

The question I would have for the commentator that loves to be great mates with all the coaches is:

Will Hinkley survive if he doesn’t make finals this year?

His answer would likely be, no.

At 0 - 4, with most likely 0 - 5 to come, will Port make the finals?

His answer would most likely be, no.

So, he gets sacked if he doesn’t make finals; he isn’t going to make finals, so why wait? It would appear to me that there is only one possible way to save the season.

Anyway, that’s my possibly unwelcome opinion.

Just had a gander in the main forum: "Which coach will be the next to be sacked?"

Looks like the general AFL BigFooty community is finally realising what we have known for so long. Ken Hinkley is leading the poll with over 48%. His closest competitor is Leon Cameron with just over 10%.

Leon Cameron won't be sacked, no need to do so. They just won't renew his contract at the end of the year.

Exactly what we should have done at the end of last year. When all is said and done, there honestly needs to be a full review in to that 2020 extension decision. A reminder that we gave a coach with 8 years without even a grand final appearance and one year still to run on his contract, a two year extension. This was the most predictable outcome ever. Mind-blowingly bad.

If we had a PM that keeps making bad decisions for Australia (ScoMo) would they reelect him after 10 years or vote for someone new.

It's just common sense.

Sacking the coach won't save the season.
It's irrevocably trashed already. 😠

Only thing it may do though is get a new voice in, and a new game plan (that stacks up under pressure) in place.

Give the players a year to re-adjust to the new style. Cut the deadwood at seasons end.

See how we go!

I think Ken is pretty much cooked, but change won't occur until the end of the season. This compromises what you would want, so basically next year becomes the season you throw away instead. 😒

Not ideal, but that's how this administration rolls these days 🙄

It could take a couple of years as cellar dweller, and much more pain in store, before things, change for the better, such is the damage that has been wrought.

The Club and players and supporters are emotionally basket cases ATM. Repairing that is a long and arduous process, not accomplished by the snap of a finger. 😢

Hinkley is exposed and flailing. Seems that good assistants have propped him up in the good years. We seem to have pulled back on the assistants he has, but still more than Primus had. I get the feeling Hinkley has relatively too much of the spend and has chosen to sacrifice assistants. Hence, he is now exposed. I am comfortable in Hinkley staying and we have two good years of high draft selections and rebuild with a new coach after that. I am sure Hinkley will stay loyal to club for this and next year as we prepare for the future. It is the pain we need to bear to turn it around.
