I suspect that Ken has been replaced by that alien bug from the first men in black movie hence the hangy skin around his neck

That bug knows less about the physics, biology and psychology at work on planet earth than Ken, but is still a better coach.

Rumour that Richmond are heavily into Carr, pretty concerned that this comes out a few days after Footy Classified report Hinkley will be getting an extension. Getting genuinely concerned that Koch will give Hinkley an extension and we will lose the gun assistant who's actually behind our success and we will go back to being mediocre for the next 2-3 years.

As it stands right now there's a win for all parties involved. If Port win the premiership Hinkley is given the credit, goes down in history as a premiership coach, goes out gracefully as a "winner", and Port have a seamless handover to Josh Carr.
If however Hinkley digs his heels in for a new contract, the club threatens to go public with the fact he had little to do with anything much, and thus sully his reputation and prospects going forward.

Dig ya heels pleeze ya oxygen thief

Not fooling us with the sugar-free soft drinks.

I would generally agree with the Ken part but the one problem I have is when has Hinkley ever spoken about the supporters, about how passionate we are and what we expect from our team, never Have I heard him say anything nice about the Port faithful. It's like we don't exist, nothing outside of the walls of Alberton is ever spoken about. This club used to be all about it's supporters, it used to be our club once, a club for supporters and community but since Hinkley has been here I have felt disconnected from the club and any concerns we may have are ignored and treated as white noise. The only credit I would give him is not getting us a wooden spoon under his watch.

I rate Ken as a player welfare manager but thats it, he's not head coach material imo. He's way too indecisive & lacks tactical nous. I have endured his coaching & been thoroughly frustrated many times during his tenure. I think Ken is uncomfortable with Port supporters because he is well aware that he's not that popular with many supporters & coaches like Jack are still revered. I think he feels like an outsider with Port supporters & he is, but that's largely due to his lack of accountability after many failures, his continual praising of opposition teams & his obsession with lowering expectations (to protect his own arse).

Is he well aware that supporters dislike him immensely? He's so arrogant, especially at the AGM's.

As a non Port supporter I am fascinated by this thread.

Do people actually still want him gone or is this thread full of sarcasm and satire about Hinkley being fired.

I can't fathom how any Port supporter would want him gone after the truly remarkable and magical season you guys are having.
The whole point is that its not Ken. The reason the season has turned around is because he's no longer in the coaches box & finally key decisions are being made. Players are now more accountable & more motivated & finally underperforming senior players are now being dropped. Ken is simply not smart enough or tough enough to be a head coach, he should be a player welfare manager to maximise his strengths. Listen to what the players are saying, it's always about Ken caring about them, never anything else. Since Ken has been appointed 'cheerleader' on the bench the players are now saying that the game plan is simpler & it's certainly more positive. If Ken goes back to the coaches box all the gains will be undone imo.

All I want is a Hinkley-free (all Hinkley's) football club. Is that too much to ask? #sackhinkley
To be honest, someone who can hold themselves with all the criticism that he’s got over the past 24 months, he’s been unbelievable,” Dixon said.

“You wouldn’t know anything’s going on behind the scenes, with the way he carries himself.

“I think, regardless of whatever, he’ll be our coach. It’s just the way it is.

“The reason we’re playing so well is because of him. I don’t think you can make any other assumptions than he will be our coach.”

suggest you face up to charlie dixon at alberton oval training session, or is that too direct!

Finally decided to end my boycott of home games last night, so I got on the website last night and tried to book a ticket for the Collingwood game in round 19. Small problem - the cheapest ticket I could find would have cost me $122.00 (yeah I know: I should have booked earlier), so I'll be watching the game at the Port Club.

So in all seriousness, what happens if say we announce Ken for 3 more years in August, as Caro and Kane are alluding to.....bottom out in another prelim and lose Carr to Richmond? Honestly would there be any media spotlight at the club or any accountability whatsoever? Would Koch fall on his sword?

Or just business as usual "kens the right man for the job down there a port".

My biggest gripe is why on earth would port rush to sign him before August? Whats the point in it? We're winning now so its not effecting performance, there are still questions to be answered re Kens ability to win a flag that wont be known until after finals, as a club we've show extraordinary faith in him to stick fat for 11 unsuccessful seasons!! Why is the media pressure on us to repay the faith and re sign him?

Plus, Koch has said all along in every interview that we wont rush any decisions and will begin discussions in August!

I just cant fathom why the club would put pen to paper now and announce in August.

If we sign him in August and lose Carr to Richmond, I hope we get another dream final against the Crows, preferably the Prelim, and get absolutely smoked

Then we break out the pitchforks and start lighting fires .....

And Ken goes into hiding for another 6 months, like he did after the 2021 prelim debacle.

ban thundercloud for dumbing others down with every post he makes

He seems to live his entire life vicariously through others. Hinkley, Dixon.

"Go have a crack at my boy big bad Charlie down at Alberton at training and see how you go!!!".
And he accuses others essentially of being shut ins living in "slums". Pathetic.

Port cannot lose Carr!

Carr is the reason why we have won 12 in row and the huge improvement and hardness. Stinkers has been good on the bench.

Hardwick would have told Richmond to go after Carr as he is a tough coach!

Who farking cares if Kenny is a good bloke and a father figure to Dixon etc!

The priority is to WIN PREMIERSHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Board cannot let the club down again.

It's clear that Hinkly has presided over 10 years of complete failure.
The turn around this year gives clear indication that something decidedly different has taken place at Alberton and all those successful changes have not been the hallmark of the character of Hinkley.
We in turn are left to surmise that what has happened is that J Carr's influence has become the number one factor in those changes.
If true the club would be in untenable position to not out Carr as the next coach.
If our summary is correct on this Hinkley would in turn be on his way out.
Very interesting weeks ahead at Alberton and the longer they leave the decision the more likely our summary is correct.

Gawd.. **** off already.

It's obvious Dixon has a long running relationship with with Hinkley dating back to their Gold Coast days.
Just shut up and do the job you're paid to do, catch the ball and kick it between the sticks. You're not paid to offer your clearly biased opinions and matters political, beefcake boy.

I’d suggest you give his todger a pouty polish too, but I wouldn’t want expat power to use it against me in future moral crusades.
