I has gone way to far for it not to be us against them now and forever. Listen to what the presidents of the other clubs have said today. They could not give two shits about Essendon, it's all about the AFL image according to them.

Then they should be disgusted with the image the AFL has had formed via the leaks and media spin over the last 7 months.

Let us be clear. These are the things I believe the club did wrong last year:
  1. The club had bad paperwork last year.
  2. The club let down Dr Reid by employing a 'charming' salesman who led the club down a risky and new age path.
  3. The club probably didn't step in quick enough to shut down the program.
  4. The club should have gathered more information for itself about each substance Dank wanted to use etc etc.
  5. The club should have kept better records of what was being used.
  6. The club could have been more pro-active in its oversight and management of the supplement program
That's it. No more. That is what we did wrong.

Let those who are without sin cast the first stone...

This is worth a punishment of a fine AT WORST... and yet we have been punished with:
  1. Disruption (ongoing) to our 2013 campaign
  2. Invasive drug investigation with multiple leaks
  3. Allegation upon allegation of untrue facts
  4. damage to the reputation of players and officials and the club
  5. unchecked smear campaign that exceeds anything seen since some fox up north..
  6. rumour around our right to participate in the 2013 Finals Series
  7. Suggestions that Jobe Watson should rescind his earned Brownlow medal
  8. Daily media stories about our 'club in crisis'.
  9. Ongoing sensational headlines and stories that are mostly untrue highly exaggerated
  10. Damaging and illegal leaks of confidential information
  11. Failure to adhere to process
  12. Denial of natural justice

I kind of feel we have paid for whatever mistake we made - and then some! Time to drop this AFL and let us move on gracefully.

We have to take responsibility for what Dank did when employed at Essendon. The circumstantial evidence that Thymoisn Beta 4 was given to the players is a very real factor.

We deserve a very heavy whack. But neither the club nor Hird should be labelled as cheats.

But that said, the AFL's handling of this issue has been terrible and they deserve to be taken to pieces and hopefully in the future we will see a less controlling body of the AFL.

Ah so turns out I have no idea how to PM.

Hurleys response to this question ''Co-worker heard a rumour, that you want out of Essendon?''

Hurleys response - ''haha - what!? where did he hear that from? can safely that is a total crock of shit''

Told her not to say I read it a online forum :D

So we have an hysterical mother go on radio and refuses to reveal her identity and goes on and on about the welfare of her son blah blah blah (she has every right to be concerned) and then says she hasn't attended the parents meetings held by the club, and then we have Alex Browne's father who openly admitted who he was, who has attended the meeting come out and say he is satisfied that his son isn't exposed to any future health risks. For **** sake lady attend the meetings!!!!!

WTF??? Is she a CONCERNED parent or not? Sounds fake if that was the case. Surely they'd inform parents if they couldn't make it/interstate.

Totally agree, this is where Hirdy is right to call for a public hearing.

This issue needs to be resolved in an open and transparent manner, we have admitted where we went wrong and steps have been made to correct that.

The issues surrounding the lack checking of references is a case in point, sure the board needs to explain it to the members but it is not illegal to not check references, the majority of jobs particularly in small business are filled with minimal reference checks.

The OH&S issues if so serve are a matter for Worksafe.

A number of the charges appear to have been made in part look nothing more than to be a set of ambit claims

This whole thing is a shambles, and once it hits the courts, that will be made painfully clear to all the mongoloids out there trying to say otherwise.
I can only hope the people who have slandered and defamed us this whole time (namely the media) are punished sorely for what they've done to everyone involved with the club during this saga.
I want serial sackings and people like Caroline Wilson to be forced to apologize and reveal just how exactly she got all the information she came up with.
If only we lived in Pakistan, at least that way we could have a few public executions on the media side of things and be done with it, and parade Vlad's head on a stick at the front of Windy Hill, with a sign accompanying it "You were warned."

Adelaide: Could be a backer
Brisbane: Rely on AFL hand outs, and have their own issues to deal with. Heat on EFC is helping cover their massive stuff up
Carlton: Hate us and could get into the finals: Will side with AFL
Coll: Eddie feels for Hird, and hates AFL: Will side with Us I think, however wants it sorted ASAP
Freo: Undecided
Geel: Will look to protect Thompson and doesn't want the spotlight to turn on them. Could be a backer
GC: AFL owns them, they need the AFl. Will side with AFL even if required to walk naked down Bourke St
GWS: See GC. The are a division of the AFL.
Haw: Despise us and may relish the chance to kick us while we are down. Don't want focus off their premiership team. Likely to back AFL
Melb: See GC, GWS. Need AFL and are currently basically being run by AFL. Jackson might have a word but another AFL vote here.
North: See Carlton. Although Brayshaw still sore after the Gold Coast incident. Likely to back AFL but could provide support.
Port: Currently on AFL life support. Koch heavily involved in media. Will back AFL.
Rich: Undecided.
StK: Have their own problems to deal with. Don't want spotlight on Milne or Saad. Will back AFL.
Syd: Need salary cap concessions and still rely on AFL. Will side with AFL.
WCE: Despise the AFL and not interested in drama. Likely backer for EFC.
WB: Need AFL funding. See GC, GWS and Melb. Will back AFL.

That is why the courts need to step in. The clubs have too much invested in this. Remembering that the AFL was MEANT to be the independent body that would STOP all the fighting between clubs. The AFL are a law unto themselves for a reason. Will be interesting.

I have no problem with disagreement.. I've been in my share of BF fights..
However it can not be ignored that all our 'newer' posters seem to share the same view as Caro.

I hate Alan Jones.. but wow didn't he nail it.. shame he can't pump that out all day across every media outlet in melbourne.

Love this part: "The AFL has mistake after mistake after mistake"

Too Right!

'newer' posters have an opinion as well mate, get over yourself.

You have very persistent on the TB4 angle KP.. and I respect your views.

Trust me, we don't have anything to worry about.. it is all circumstantial and I believe when the facts come out in open court, these particular allegations will be withdrawn promptly.

Righto. How about you call Little and let him know that we should roll over and be screwed up the ass and labelled drug cheats for no reason.

How about you personally talk to Caro about how even EFC supporters think we should lose all our points for the next ten years...

I'm merely suggesting you read the facts and make informed opinions, not just come in and regurgitate Caro's articles. Maybe start with some posts in MVP or Gameday.. to show you actually even watch the club.

Guys, I'm going to emphasise again- this is not the time to start calling people out as 'false supporters' and 'trolls'.

I have seen this accusation levelled at a few people in the last hour, and to be frank, in every case the accusation has been, to the best of our knowledge, false. And we spend a lot of time chasing up this sort of thing behind closed doors, so it's a bit tiresome to see those sort of comments repeated ad nauseum in here.

If you strongly suspect someone, report them- calling them out in the thread just derails it.

Again, I know it's a rough day for us and we're all feeling it, but now is not the time to start turning on each other. We've been fantastic in that regard for six months- let's not undo that in a single day.

"Let 'em boil in their own juice" - Alan Jones in regards to the AFL.

Not being Alan Jones' biggest fan (if at all) that is classic stuff, and how I hope it comes true.

No matter which way anyone puts it or which position he takes on this issue, make no mistake Alan Jones is one of the biggest carnts on the planet.

I don't believe the AFL would make up all of that to be honest. There is a lot at stake for them to publicly release lies. The environment at the club was not safe for players, regardless of who was involved. Someone must have been responsible of that. Reading Reid's email, Hird must have had knowledge of what went on and he didn't provide a duty of care. That is my concern.

Hamilton, Dank, Robinson, Robson and Evans left the club. What about the senior coach who also oversaw all of this? Doesn't he have any responsibility? Last time I read the charge sheet, it didn't say Hird was a drug cheat. Rather, it outlined negligence from some senior staff. Is it in the interest of the club and its future for him to remain as our senior coach while battling it out in court? Is it in the interest for our club in the long term to continue this rubbish? Regardless, this is my view and all I want is for this to end.
That's the whole point. He is responsible for coaching, not running the fitness or football departments.

I don't believe the AFL would make everything up, that would be too easy to see through. I believe it's in their interest to take uncorroborated evidence and combine subjective perspective to create a charge list intimidating enough to overwhelm the majority of readers and garner public support.

Have you read the revised or original charge sheet? The revised version removed assertion of drug cheating, however the AFL released the original version. I wonder why? Have you also read Hird's writ?

Sorry Doss.. just getting kind of annoyed.. seems to be a lot of these 'newer' supporters popping up. But we hear you buddy! Keep on with the good fight!

If that is true, then I am staggered that the AFL released a charge sheet basically stating that we have given the players TB4. But then that would be in line with the fact that ASADA issued no infractions.

Well i hope you are right.

See comments in bold. I still think you've got it right but there are people at some clubs who may weigh in.

I think you're overestimating the support the AFL has. The heat on the EFC is not going away, the AFL handouts will stay if a spill is successful (remember where that funding comes from), and the NM/GC issue combined with the lack of team in Tassie will be playing on the minds of a few clubs, especially one based in Seaford with a team about to be appalling for 3-4 years minimum.

Coll, WCE and NM will back us. Adelaide and Richmond may feel that siding with three of the biggest clubs is in their best interests. Geelong will back us. Some of the mid-cap teams (especially the interstate ones) are totally up in the air. Carlton, Hawthorn, GWS, GC and Melbourne are write-offs for the reasons listed above (they hate us off field as opposed to a Collingwood type rivalry). Freo have a CEO and Chairman with balls of steel (the Lyon poaching); they won't be intimidated by either side. Brisbane will probably vote with the majority; Johnson has his own issues to deal with.

This needs to be read by everyone, including Vlad and Caro. Independent and respected legal opinion.

I smell trouble in them waters... this WHOLE thing is so illegal it makes me sick.

The last point was interesting...

xi. ASADA has referred to the ACC the allegations that Mr Demetriou breached the Australian Crime Commission secrecy provisions. Breach of these provisions carries strong criminal penalties, including jail terms.
