If a deal is made prior, the matter doesn't need to be heard at a full trial on the question of guilt.

You are correct. There may be a deal made before the arraignment hearing. Then the arraignment hearing would be cancelled and alternate charges laid (or not).

But technically, (pedantically if you like) the trial commences with the arraignment hearing when the plea is entered, so one cannot really plead guilty without going to trial.

I live in a town of 3000 people with three kids going to the same school and I wouldn’t know hardly any of the kids or parents. I only know who my kids associate with.

This case is bizarre enough. The suggestion that SMs body has been dumped in a WORKING mine is even more bizarre. A working mine is very difficult to access without anyone noticing. Probably moreso a crazed junkie with a dead body in tow.

Maybe a Q for the locals, but can anyone ID the (yellow) point of the last phone ping? Is it bordering the Union Jack reserve? But I don’t think that area was searched, was it? The red areas are the search areas, but the phone pinged outside of that, sorry if it’s been answered but I’m wondering why they didn’t search the area where the ping was. UI are usually pretty good with their maps and pinpointing exact points of interest. This feels a bit like the Greg Lynn thing, where they displayed something in the background that they never actually talked about.
