Deebo is a new addition to the injury report 😔.

TW being a limited participant at least improves his outlook.

Kyle suggested that John Lynch might have to relive his glory days at Safety we're so thin there

The Cards winning was a great bonus. Gives McCaffrey, Williams and a few others a couple of weeks rest (surely they don’t get played).

It’s difficult to be massively confident of an SB run given how comprehensively the Ravens beat us, but given a decent injury run the NFC is certainly there for the taking.

If we did manage to get through the NFC (still a big if) then I’d like our chances against anyone outside of Baltimore. Maybe in that scenario someone knocks them off.

Looking forward to the playoffs. It’ll be a long few weeks until we see them play again though.

I'm willing to give the team a pass on the Ravens but they need to learn from it, and be ready with a better approach - you don't learn anything from winning.

We might have to front up to the cowboys and eagles again (have they leaned from their clobbering?). I think the wildcard weekend will have a few upsets, so a bit hard to workout what the path to Las Vegas is.

Green Bay a few years back got rolled by us after being the 1 seed, so you can't take anything for granted. Likewise for the Ravens. They'll face some good teams in the AFC too.

My only worry about mass resting is that it's going to be 3 weeks between competitive snaps for some guys. Its a rest vs rust balance that needs to be struck.

Clearly we don't want to put anyone at risk but still important to not come out cold and lay an egg on the 20/21 of Jan

Pro Bowl selections are in

Eight NFL teams are sending at least five players to Orlando, where the flag football game will be played Feb. 4 at Camping World Stadium, led by the league-leading San Francisco 49ers, who boast nine Pro Bowlers (and eight starters): quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Christian McCaffrey, fullback Kyle Juszczyk, tight end George Kittle, offensive tackle Trent Williams, defensive end Nick Bosa, defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, linebacker Fred Warner and cornerback Charvarius Ward.

Sam is an upgrade
He's upgraded Ward's intercept game and helped him snag a CB slot at the pro bowl.

-----

Ward gave some unexpected credit for the interceptions to backup quarterback Sam Darnold. Ward had been working with a JUGS football passing machine to help him catch footballs, but once Darnold got involved, things changed.

"This week I caught some balls from Sam Darnold -- from a quarterback that throws the ball hard," Ward said. "It's different when a quarterback's throwing the ball to you rather than your coach throwing about you. It's a different spin on it. So I caught some balls from Sam Darnold and I'm probably going to do that every week now for sure."

We lost both the NFC championship game against the rams (10 points lead) and the Superbowl (10 points lead), so not a fan of the "nobody really wins these" lines.

Throw in a Falcons SB implosion and there is a theme.

So a 26 point lead should just about be enough...
A Dees fan I know only allows himself to feel comfortable in the final quarter of games if we are over the line of 48.5 points ahead, this is dating back to a match in the early 90's when the Bombers came from 48 points down early in the 4th quarter to win by a point.

I was there that day Anzac day 92 when it was a Saturday afternoon.

Sat in the Ponsford stand and saw the first goal Melbourne kicked sail home to start the the last quarter, after that it rained goals down the other end. A great win

I was there also in the Olympic stand, went with a fellow Melbourne supporting mate and another mate and his dad who went for the Bombers. I was as filthy as a 12 year old could be walking out.

Urgh, feels like the preseason with the huge gap between meaningful games. Great for the freshen up, but 3 full weeks off makes it a quiet time. Just hope for the rest over rust argument.

Anyone got a preferred opponent in the divisonal round?

Packers are pretty patchy. It would be a huge win for them over the Cowboys, not sure they'd have 2 boil overs in their kitbag.

Rams would be an interesting match up with the history between Kyle and Sean. We've go out the better line up, but they have enough talent and coaching to make it interesting. They've been pretty good the past 6 weeks too.

Philly are terrible right now, and the Levi faithful would love he chance to end their season.

Baker and the Buccs are on a similar run to the Rams going 5-1 just to sneak in. We accounted for them comfortably earlier on, so would expect something similar.

At home this team should have no fears if they play to their abilities and don't get ahead of themselves. Of course, Any Given Sunday and all could see any of their opponents play out of their skin on the day.

There is only one match up achilles heal and that is the 49ers defense letting Stafford dink and dunk to Kupp and now Nacua.

I know it was a meaningless game against the Rams but there were two worrying trends that simply will not go away. 1) The 49ers had two chances to comes from behind and blew it again and 2) Shanahan abandoning the run again when things got tight and when they fell behind.
