Not official yet but I’m hearing this is what could happen.

Not sure if the pay will change, but we will have the ability to sign players delisted from the AFL straight away, instead of the past rule where they had to not play AFL for 2 years.

Also can sign 6 U21s players and 4 overage players from other SANFL clubs, even if they are best 22. Limited to 1 U21 + 1 overage player per club. The old rule was we could recruit the best ressies players from other SANFL clubs.

So possibly 3 or 4 mature aged ex-AFL players, plus 4 from SANFL clubs, plus 6 under 21's = 14.
Add say 6 or so from our fc xcurrent top up list (Moore, Short, Szust, Weed, Hugh Ferrari, Pascoe, Preston C-C) = 20 top ups.
May get one or two F/S's or Academy kids on short term (4 week) loans as well.

SANFL rules require a max of 17(???) players on the club's AFL list to play each week in the SANFL, so about 4 or 5 top ups minimum can play on any given weekend.

Wouldn't be unheard of to have an injury list of AFL players up to 10 or 12 deep, plus some of our "top ups" may get injured as well. So there could be instances where most of our (available) top ups could play (well at least a dozen of them) in any given week.

There is no AFL listed cap of 17 during the season, that's only for finals.
