I read that Grant Kenny son guy- that was the hardest part for him- the food. He hated everything, was almost vomiting back up the oats.

Apparently he was "running on empty" for most of the series and lost a sh*t tonne of weight.
Irony that Grant Kenny was the front man for Uncle Toby's oats for so long lol.

What is the go with Isabelle's neck? Why the bandage?
I like her. Seems cool.
Wife follows her on the gram, think the very first day they did some crawling on rocks and she got really bad scratches. They actually all have a bunch of bandages on their forearms and hands and stuff. Apparently Jana is doing alot of running repairs (which they didnt do last year). Her gram posts show all the injuries throughout the season, her bruising from the cliff fall yesterday was intense.

I think she had anorexia. Awful disease
I thought the same but apparently it was alchohlism, her boyfriend committed suicide as well. Sounds like they dont know if her body gave out or she comitted suicide. The family has basically not spoken about it at all... Really awful stuff.

I dont reckon thats cheating at all.

Am i alone here?

Nah i didnt think it was cheating, i thought it wasnt in the spirit of the challenge but more importantly i thought it was a really dumb thing to do when youre teams are not set for the whole comp and you bunk with the other team. Sam tripped over the tree, hes not a man i would want pissed off at me.

That's so sad. I kind of understand why the brother was pissed (and yet heartbroken too) at her.

/jesus- absolutely no pun intended there.

That's just horrible. Obvs was in a very dark place and couldnt be reached.

I thought it was brilliant. I would have tried to add extra stuff. :tearsofjoy:

I tried googling last night and its actually got next to no detail so it could have been eating disorder as well, it certainly seems as though she wasnt a well woman. I also listened to Jetts words last night and understood exactly what he was saying. For a loooooong time i though overcoming mental health issues was just a willpower thing (obviously its not and my own mental health journey taught me alot) but its so hard to contextualise and understand it. I really feel for him and that family.

Like i said i didnt really have an issue with it as such but i dont think its clever when youre sharing a bedroom and need to trust the group. Just more of Koby not thinking more than 3 feet in front of his face.

Sam Burgess had just one shower before last night??

His dick must have been about to rot off.
Im not defending it cause it is gross but they are only there for two weeks total. Assuming this is probably like 7-8 days in, he had also had the ice bath and a number of water challenges and i assume done some spot cleaning.

Its pretty feral but its not like hes not been in any body of water.

Sounds like she was battling both alcoholism and eating disorder. It's a sad story.

They're keeping it private. That's cool

A bit similar to the Abletts theyre not saying what specific condition their son has and fair enough
Yeh absolutely, the only time i disagree with this approach is when it clearly effects remaining family members.

A mate of mine committed suicide over christmas years ago, went to the funeral and because they were staunch catholics they refused to talk about the suicide or even his death really, his younger brother was pretty cut up about it and ended up reaching out to a mutual friend a few months later, his family had forbid him to talk about it at all and it messed him up.

I dont think thats what happened here by any means but it can be horrible.

Having two famous parents would have been tough as well, both Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny were swimming and life saying champions and Olympians.

It would be hard for their kids to live up to their reputations and to always be compared to their parents, they would feel like failures in comparison.

Jett said last night that he has always been called Jett Kenny rather than just Jett and that he used to get teased in school because of who his parents were, his sister probably would have gone through the same thing and that may have contributed to her problems.

Anyway I'm glad Jett changed his mind about quitting last night, would have been a mistake when he has been one of the strongest contestants so far and would be a good chance of completing the course.

He was falling behind bc he most likely put in the most effort in the first part of the challenge unlike pea brain at the back..

So hardly a kind of "im dragging my team down" scenario
I think he just went "hunger flat", particularly given the comments posted here yesterday in the discussion about the porridge for breakfast. As you rightly say, working so hard at the front of the chain would have been a key contributor to this.

Going "hunger flat" meant that he felt like he literally had no energy left, which is why he was being left behind, and he didn't want to drag the team down due to his (short term) physical condition.

I think Ant realised that Jett was only struggling temporarily which is why he asked him if he was sure if he wanted to quit to make him change his mind, if he thought he was constantly struggling and out of his depth like Kerri then he would have just accepted him quitting without questioning it.

100%, Poos comments about his son not playing tennis resonated. Imagine being Tom Brady or Michael Jordans kids. The weight of expectation would be enormous.

Yeh, i thought he just had a moment, anyone who has done anything even semi endurance based has had it. My first (and only) half ironman i think i decided to quit 20 times. If you can get through it youll be okay.

Coupled with being screamed at at that exact moment and the hunger flat im not suprised he took the armband off. Glad he stayed though.

Jackson Warne said similar last season. He just wanted to be known as Jackson instead of Shane Warne's son everytime he walked into a room. Would be tough knowing who your real friends are and who just want to know you because you have a famous connection.
