He was one of the most watchable stars on this season of SAS Australia, and Koby Abberton was certainly paid handsomely for his efforts.

Actually this seems like a good question. I had only not heard of the politician chick, the rest i knew to varying degrees (Jett Kenny more from name than what he actually does as an example). Who did you know from one look?

I only knew of Scud, Shaw, Manu, Murray, Edelstone, Steffensen, Pottharst, Molik, Pittman. I watched Puberty Blues but forgot about Cornish. Sam Burgess at an absolute stretch but I don't really follow rugby. Wasn't into the whole Bra Boys thing so didn't know of Abberton. Never heard of Ewing, Peris (though obviously a famous name), Kenny, Anderson, Husar, McNaught.

On the one hand i could see Koby lying to big note himself but it also seems like it would be quickly debunked...
Having said that, i doubt Koby would be smart enough to realise his lie would be found out, so in the end, who knows.
It does seem like a huge number for a dude that isnt THAT well known.

I know what you're doing.. and i dont like it
I was reasonably familiar with Shaw, Pittman, Edelstein, Murray, Manu, Philipoussis, Potharst, Stephenson and Molik. I had heard of, but knew little about, Burgess, Peris (though everyone knows her mother), Kenny (mostly as a result of news regarding his sister's death), and Husar (I'm a bit of a political junkie). I have heard about the Bra Boys, but couldn't have ever named one of them, including Koby. I watched Puberty Blues, but I don't remember Isabelle Cornish - I am, however, familiar with her sister (Abbie). I'd heard the name Dan Ewing, but that was the sum total knowlege of him. I had never heard of Bonnie Anderson or Erin Holland (I originally thought this was the married name of Erin McNaught).
I'm happy to acknowledge that Burgess is a legitimate celebrity - it's just that I'm a follower of AFL, not NRL, so my knowledge of him is limited by lack of interest, not lack of notoriety.

Husar i genuinely didnt know.
Anderson i vaguely recongnised but i honestly thought shed been on home and away.
Burgess, Shaw were probably my two best known. I weirdly knew Erin Holland because shes Married to Ben Cutting and does a bit of big bash stuff. Peris was all over the news rags for her relationship with Shaun Kenny Dowell (another League player). Isabelle Cornish was just in Nine Perfect Strangers so real fresh of mind, Pottharst ive met and Murray, i loved Feeler as a teen.
Rest were varying degree of nostalgia.

Anderson was on some singing talent TV show as a teenager, I didn't know she was now an actress.
You couldn't pay me to watch any of those talent-less reality shows (singing, dancing, renovating, cooking, ...) or Neighbours. No wonder I had never heard of her.
I make exceptions for The Amazing Race (US version) and SAS Australia... but that's it.

Surprised Koby earned that much from the show as I had no idea who he was, he could've just been some no name bogan off the streets for all I know.
I'm not surprised Sam Burgess is the top earner on the show, he is one of the biggest names in the NRL, a bigger name than Heath Shaw is in the AFL.
It takes away some of the respect you have for the contestants that they are earning so much money to go on the show but at least they earn it with all the shit they have to go through, it's a lot tougher than most other reality shows that celebrities go on.
The only reality shows I watch are Survivor, The Amazing Race and this show, not interested in all the other reality shows.

Re those on the show: I knew most of them. Kenny was on Dancing with the Stars I think (<< watch bits and pieces of it, never a whole series), Bonnie Anderson I kinda knew her from Neighbours even tho I never watch it.
Politician- no ****ing clue. Didnt even recall the massive scandal.
Burgess- from the odd Womans Day mag maybe? The ones my mum has down the holiday house, I reckon he's probably popped up in those rags.
Peris- nah didnt really know her.
Abbie/Isabelle Cornish LOL- I loved Puberty Blues, I have it on DVD. I cant believe it took me ages to work out it wasnt Abbie- that voice is so close to the one the character has on PB and thats set in the 70s.
