For his price and the ability to slot him back, that would enable me to cover a rookie forward or mid that I want to upgrade.
Dea has copped a bit of a pasting from here, but on paper he looks a solid slot for a starting cash cow.

What are peoples thoughts on how he played and is he worth a rookie slot?

For 40k more you could get Weitering.

He was really solid, I liked his game.

I've got him in now as should be a mainstay for the Dons all year.

On a serious note, you are aware that one of the primary objectives of this game is cash generation aren't you? Putting it simply, you want to trade your lower priced players up to premium players during the course of the season in the hope that you have a team full of "premiums" at the end of the season.

Take your forward line for example. How many of your forward line selections are likely to be "keepers"? Craig Bird is $348k but there is the potential to get somewhere close to the same output from Nakia Cockatoo. He's only $170k or so. You get my drift?

There's nothing wrong with having mid priced players if you are backing them for a breakout season (eg De goey) or they are coming back from long term injury (Libba) but they should be the only reasons.

interesting how the only hawks player i've really seen in teams so far is birchall. haven't seen to many with hodge, lewis, gunston or even mitchell (whose lowest score last year was 86).

Expecting the older players to be rested throughout the season, Clarkson has stated on many occasions that he expects A few more kids to be playing at stage. Lots of talk of transition, so be wary. And Gunston wont leave the forward line as much with Ruffy out for the first half of the season.

90% of sides having Barlow in the forward line.

Are people thinking he will score better than last year?

He had the 12th highest avg for forwards, last year.

I've only just put him in but 12th highest ranking and playing every game is good enough to be a keeper. F5 or 6.

Really unsure what structure to run with, dunno if I need another premo defender. Any ideas of what I should do to improve??

Nice team. I like it. Hopefully Ruggles who ever that is plays some games or you will have to re structure.

Strong team though.
