Everyones teams are looking the goods, especially like the faith shown in Ned Gawn. Wouldn't mind a bit of feed back on my team, I'm fairly set at this stage... Still got a fair wad of cash left, ($260k) not sure if it's worth spending it on another mid or banking it for justin... Dea and Petracca will probably make way for other rookies that are named. TIA! I'd cull Sandi.

Sandi's out round 1. Might as well use some of that war chest to upgrade him to Goldy.
I'm sure that money could be used for something else too (rookies for instance).

So, who is this Cripps fella everyone is on. Haven't heard much about him. Anyone care to give me some insight into his talents?

I think I remember him. There was a lot written about him way back in the round 2 SC thread from 2015. I recall he's soft as butter with no upside and was way overpriced at 200k - every player who knew anything about SC was moving him on for proven talent like NVB.

Any input...? I have 77k left

My thoughts:

DEF - Fairly happy in a bad year for defenders, not sure if I should keep Sheridan or downgrade (options like Weitering don't overly appeal, can see him putting in too many 50's). Maybe Houili or Gibbo for Laird?

MID - Very happy with my premo's...Thought about taking Fyfe down to Danger and pocketing 20k but FyfeIsLife, Shiel will take the next step this year and so will Viney. Libba & Mills pick themselves. May swap Menadue for Gresham or put Davis in off the bench.

FWD - Had Dusty in but just not sure he can go much better this year...will look to pick him up near the bye if he is motoring (can sometimes start slow). Makes Barlow F1 but he will average just as much as Dusty, confident Gray can take the next step and push into Top 8 along with Hall (will play it by ear as to whether I keep him depending on output once others return to the Suns midfield).

Strengthened backline.
Thoughts?? Thanks guys

I'd get off of Petracca, he's a downgrade target for later. I don't see Gore getting many early games either, also I'd downgrade steele, by moving one of menadue or Kedge FWD (or both If your covering Petracca) Then i'd bring in Mills, a premo mid and a rookie in your mids.

DEF - I think Laird for Gibbo would be a good upgrade. I rate Laird very highly! I also like the fact you've only gone with 2 rookies and i personally rate Sheridan quite highly so I think he fits well as that 4th back.

MID - Love the Shiel pick but I'm not completely sold on Viney, at that price you really need a mid that will be in your team all year and while Viney should improve a lot i don't think he will finish in the top 10-15 mids which is really what you want.

Rucks - Good, can't fault them. Having Goldy would be nice but if you don't think he is worth the extra $ then the next best combination is probably what you have. :thumbsu:

FWD - Very similar to mine so I really like it. I currently don't have Dusty either as I don't see any potential to improve. In saying that I'll be looking to trade him in early (ish) if i can since he will almost certainly finish in the top 5 forwards.

Overall I like it a lot. If your gut says to pick guys like Viney or Gibson etc then don't let me persuade you otherwise, I've never been good at SC anyway :p

Yeah I take your point re. Viney... I think he can push the 106-110 mark (like he did at the end of last year) for the season but that will land him around 15 for mids but might be worth spending some remaining coin and upgrading to a 550k eg Selwood, Sidebum or Rocky.

Yeah I think Viney to any of those 3 would be a big improvement. You might be able to get away with holding Viney as mid 8 all year but it will probably put more strain on the rest of your mids if you want to be competitive (assuming Viney doesn't average 115+). I like your pick of Shiel because I think he can really push the top 15 but Viney would really need to explode to reach the top echelon. If you think he can do it then go with your gut but if you are unsure then the 3 mids you mentioned above are awesome alternatives. All of them can push the top 10-15 in my opinion.

hi big rang
solid looking team. i would downgrade dea to hartly. there is a lot of talk that dea will not get a regular spot in the team. downgrade dollhouse to hall which will free up some cash and upgrade sandi to goldie and if you have some cash left over upgrade libba to wines. dollhouse is pretty much at his max. i cant see him avg any higher. libba i am not convinced and he basically needs to score at 105 to make you 150k. i dont know if he will do that. hall and wines have been good. port has an easy start so expect wines to explode.

Sandi > Goldy

Oi. What has butter ever done to you?

I will hee petracca for loophole until he debuts in round three or so

So many identical teams...lame
I would consider my actual team reasonably unique even though I only have probably 2-3 PODS. The structure I'm going in with and the combination of players makes it unique IMO. In saying that, most of the popular players are popular for a reason so most teams will inevitably look similar but even just a few differences can have a big impact once the season starts. Personally, if I nail my 2-3 PODS I'll be happy. In the past I've gone unique for the sake of being unique and it has not paid off. Trading is what will separate the best players from the worst and teams that look the same to begin with could end up looking nothing alike and vice versa. There will always be opportunities to go against the grain even if you start with the most generic team possible. That is what makes this game awesome, the number of combinations and permutations is huge and every decision matters.

Got exactly 20k left. Thoughts?

Why can't it be like 5 years ago when teams were full of mid-priced players and the POD was the guns/rookie strategy which everyone is finally onto.. :(
