Good team. Question, why no fyfe or dusty?
Didn't have the cash for both fyfe and danger and weighed up who was more likely to score more total points. Fyfe will more likely miss a game or three due to injury and suspension.
Have had dusty all pre season. He came out after this weekend. I am concerned about off filed for him atm and wonder where his head is at. Looking for him to drop in price early and pick him up under 500k. It also gives me another spot for a rookie up forward, same reason for starting Hall in the middle.

Trying to be a little different and on the whole pretty happy with my team, the real annoyance i'm finding is the M7 and M8 spots. Also i'm not sure about Birchall thinking about JJ or maybe change Sidebottom to Cripps and upgrade to KK. Thoughts.
No Gary!
I have been considering it, but can't bring myself to do it!
Well thought out team. Good balance. Good pod.
A number of teams have Birchall thinking more mid time and increased numbers. As a hawk can, I don't see the increase and may just become a frustrating pick.

Only goldy and Fyfe would be viable captain options with that team. So very very very risky.
This is true..... but I think Fyfe and Goldy were only ever my 2 captain choices in all of 2015, which takes out the risk somewhat. Almost sets my Backs, Rucks and Forwards, and lots of DPP links to switch and upgrade mids when the cream rise to the crop.
This is far from the team that Ive looked at for the past week, but thought it could be a viable option which is pretty diff to the norm.

Looks pretty good.
Problem I see with it, is you have Papley, McCarthy and Tippa, who are all pretty iffy long term options. Then you have Hall and Menadue in the midfield, but you can't use them to cover those 3 guys. Because those 3 guys don't have Centre eligibility.
Gresham, Hewett and Davis appear to have more scoring ability than those 3 guys, so if you want to maximise your points, I'd be swapping Papley for a F/C. Even picking a Petracca as a rolling 0 might be beneficial for you.
Other than that, it looks pretty strong.
Thanks. Just the sort of feedback I was looking for! Will look into this further.

Not sure what to do, considering downgrading Selwood to Libba which will free up some cash to use on rookies. View attachment 225147
Solid team..... I like it.... not a fan of the $200k rookies? (apart from Mills?). Do you think the cheaper rookies will be of greater value?
I wouldnt start with Joelwood until I see how he goes with Dangerfield, and to see if he pumps out some 80's like he did for the first half of last year.

Do u think i should change Selwood to Libba, or sideways swap him to someone like Shiel/Parker/Wines???

May as well go with the common trend and give libba a go.
If I was to sideways trade I'd go for Shiel, wines or Cripps.
Don't like Parker this year esp if he moves up forward

The reason why I haven't actually gone with Libba is because I end up with 200k leftover when I can have a certain premo like Shiel or Selwood. What should I do with the leftover cash??

Wouldn't mind getting dea in there for Broad.
Oliver and milera on the bench is a lot of cash in tge wrong spot. Down grade or get tgem on field and sure up you defence. You will regret going in with a backline so weak.

Would this be completely stupid and irrational??

If you can guarantee that those players will be the top 6 forward and back scoring players, it could work. The problem is if you get one wrong it defeats the purpose of setting up that way. You will use more trades and be well behind in midfield point production.
Different team yes, but different for a reason!

Yeah fair point, I've had this same argument with a mates side having 200k players on the bench a few weeks ago.

But stuff paying good money for guys like yoe and smith, when I could get the same scores out of rookies while they make money.

Problem with a team like this is what happens if a majority of those you picked in defense and up forward don't end up being top 6 players?

That's why generally, in a perfect world, you want a spread of premiums across defense, midfield and forward. So that you can gauge where all the players are at and jump on those you think will finish top 6. When you start with 6 premium forwards as you have, you have no room to move. You don't have any room to bring in someone like Deledio or Montagna once they drop in price.

I do appreciate the lateral thinking in trying to do something different, I just think the chance it'll fall apart is huge

Defenders: Shaw, K. Kolodjashnij, Yeo, Johanissen, Mackenzie, Dea (Collins, M. Brown ess)
Mid: Pendles, Ablett, ,Dangerfield, Cripps, B. Crouch, Libba, De Goey, Mills (Parish, Petracca, Menadue)
Ruck: Martin, Sinclair (Currie)
Fwd: D. Martin, Barlow, Wells, Kerridge, Steele, Grimley (M. Cox, McDonald-Tipungwuti)
Thoughts?

very mid price
dont like the Sinclair pick, reckon Smith for 20k more is better
get rid of Yeo, only one good score in NAb (against Essendon), will only score well against weaker teams.
dont think you should have all of Crouch, Libba and De Goey in the midfield - they could break you as early as round 5 = BOOM 5 trades gone
dont need Parish or 200k on the bench, waste

Hi guys, what do you think of this? My main concern is having all the rookies playing from Rd 1 or ASAP.
$16,500 in the bank
Cheers

solid team IMO
like the Hunter pick, tho you could downgrade Hannebery to Rockliff and upgrade him...
if it helps with the rookie picks, Ciaran Byrne was just upgraded by Carlton, so should play round 1 (123k def)
other than that, very solid
