Went down to watch the Bulls and Greenvale slug it out at a very wet Greenvale Reserve Sat.

Greenvale are a very slick outfit fielding there best side. McPhee should still be playing league. Brewer is all class. Kuret is a gun.

Bulls seemed to split there sides with Cloke,Farrelly,Shaw,Mitchell,Shelton,Brown,Mamone all playing in the earlier game.

Did grant weeks play against gborough?
Nup - he played for St. Mary's in the NT final - Rochy had both teams playing in the A Grade cricket GF playing on the other ground, so cricket and footy on both grounds. They had a lot of senior players playing in the cricket, but a hit out to start the footy season was good. G'Borough looked sharp early and tackled well, but evened out a little as the game went on and teams rested players...

NFL introduce AFL rule of ability for teams to play on after a point without waiting for flag. No information on if clubs must provide a bag of balls to allow full back to be able to go straight away. Will be interesting to see how this will work.

If this is true teams would want to be switched on quickly otherwise they will get hurt massively, Heidelberg should be ok they would have heaps of spare new footys

Heidelberg easy win over North Hobart over the weekend, albeit without grand final players; both Nolans, Houlihan, Cosgriff, Sinclair, Healy, Nabbout, Drapac, Young and Gay. From all reports the team played pretty well and some new boys really impressed. Notably Chaz Seargaent and Jamie Allan- both boys recruited from O and M all set for a massive year- bring on Np round 1, what a game that will be!

Heidelberg forward line is looking impenetrable with blokes like Mark Favrin, Joel Harris (WAFL Amo's leading goal kicker last year), Powick and Sargaent all to play on the lesser defenders with Nolan and Miller presumably taking the best defenders.

Heidelberg Def the team to beat this season!

Are we having a footy tipping comp this year???:D

Yeah mate. Bit busy at the moment but will sort it out over Easter.

Just wanting some sponsorship this year as we really need a prize for the winner (other than a three way date with the Boof and KickAss)

It is true what I cannot find out is the "rules" ie

I'd the home team obligated to have a bag with balls in it?
Can teams have a 'supporter' with a ball at the goals ready to hand a ball to full back?
What constitutes a ball being able to be brought back immediately.....what if it hits something or is touched by some one.....will opposition have 'supporters' trying to hold the ball to slow play down.....?

Hmmm I might go out on a limb and predict a Heidelberg v Bundoora Grand Final.

North Heidelberg are not in favour of the play on after a point rule as it takes them ten minutes to chase down the tip rat that pinched the footy.o_O
