Any chance they can post on website a clearance list.
Most leagues have a full write up of who is going to what club
Check out NFNL and EFNL they include both men and womens write ups for clearances.
Don’t give me the BS that they use PlayHQ, I have no doubt the league sees who is being cleared.
Put it in a spreadsheet and post it, it’s not hard

What’s the go with Aaron Mullet? Mid February and he ups and leaves Mooroolbark without warning and goes to Wandin. Talk on social media of $40k sign-on fee, no doubt exaggerated as social media will do.

Massive shock of a move, timing is really strange.

Had issues getting paid at Mooroolbark last season and wasn’t happy about it.

The figure is about right. Van Unan is showing a clearance back to OE surely not ti Wandin as he demands $1500 plus and a large sign on.

That figure is nowhere near right and Van Unen is going to Poweltown.

Mooroolbark look to have lost quite a few so wonder if they over-extended themselves last year.

Shame about Mullett, understand his connection to Mooroolbark goes right back to early juniors. But great get for Wandin.

Players got payed more for a win. They didn’t calculate in theyed win so many.

Looks of clubs across many leagues that should have an asterisk next to their name for winning premierships and breaking salary cap rules
Sadly the toothless tiger AFL won’t do anything and it becomes a free for all
I just hope clubs that have financial beneficiaries survive when they leave and take their cash and jobs with them

Short term glory long time pain.

Unfortunately Mooroolbark were living well outside their means and made lots of promises of which many didn’t come to fruition. Mullett and Van Unen are not the only top line players that have left the club. God knows why they went down that path as they had only just recently got out of a previous financial mess. Going to be a long year for the Mustangs who could go from premiership contenders to fighting off relegation.

Mullett has joined Wandin to play with mates and Van Unen returning to Powelltown to do the same. Money is way less than what some people are talking about. Some really good players have come into the league this year.

On another note, well done to Yea who will be fielding two teams this year. Have done a fantastic job rebuilding the club over the past 18 months. Kudos to those involved. Whilst they may not be in the top couple of teams, they will be going around each week.

The old play with mates line.

Yea getting two sides will be a miracle and a long way off.

It is very hard to police.

I know the EFNL require all clubs to submit their financials at the end of each year on a common template - all revenue broken down, all expenses broken down - and their balance sheet incl cash at bank - so there is some work there, you basically have to falsify your books if you're going to break it.

I don't know if other leagues do that.

It is something - yes can be gotten around - but they benchmark clubs and if anything in particular looks "off" then they can audit the salary cap.

I understand the audit involves club officials signing a stat dec. That's another question for people... yes again, dishonest people will falsify, but it will pull some people up... if it's ever established that you've falsified a stat dec it's not a great mark against you. If I was a club official i wouldn't be doing it.

The next step I feel is sponsorship, it's simple to see publicly who the clubs advertise as sponsors both online and at their ground. If you have to break down how much you're receiving from each to the league then they can ask a question... why are you calling ChristianBoy etc a sponsor when he didn't put any cash in? Where did his cash go?

It's far from perfect but there are things the leagues can do, the other question of course is if they have the resources to do it, I would say most don't.

Regarding mbark, you know this how?

Let's just say Toxic I am very close to someone involved in the club. Unfortunately the club has got themselves into some financial difficulty. Wasn't on their radar but some decisions made have come back to 'bite' them. Very unlike them considering their efforts over recent years to become financially sustainable and have money in the bank.

No doubt that figure is close.

Does anyone actually believe when people roll out the he’s come to play with his mates line when clubs load up.

I mean a player that moves clubs every year and won’t talk unless there’s 1500 on the table doesn’t decide to travel 2 hours to play for 150.

The figure of $40k is absolutely nowhere near close and anyone suggesting so is making it up.
Some of the garbage floating around about players wages on here and other platforms are deadset laughable made by people that simply don’t know but have “heard” from “sources”.

Haven't heard it from any source - as I said in my post it's what people are saying on social media. Also said that probably means it's not right.

But at least on Facebook somebody puts their name to the claim, which makes it worth more than anything on here.

Whatever the figure, it's hard to imagine anybody just ups and leaves their home club in February if it's not for significant cash in some form. They interviewed his coach and he said that he's "made the decision for his family" which says exactly that.
