Iam not suggesting anyone from league HQ want to get rid of them, they probably dont.

However Iam asking if they now have an obligation to keep them in the league despite them not being excepted and showing that they want out.
They aren’t obligated to do anything. Their actions over the past 6/7 years have clearly shown that. They are only interested in their own echo chamber and have zero interest in the views of their constituents. Speak to anyone outside of the OE about our comp and they just start laughing, cannot fathom how they come about their decisions.

No they are not

When Cranbourne put the same intention to move in at the end of 2021 they where told that by doing so they where relinquishing their position in the competition..

Might have changed now we are back under the afl vic banner though..

Do people really think Pineapple is from Powelltown? I’ve never heard anyone speak like this and say these absolutely ridiculous statements that he/she is saying. It’s complete nonsense and clearly they are hear to cause bullshit.

I’m with you oldsec, sounds like a disgruntled Warby supporter trying to slag off, anyway let’s just have a laugh at the dribble and let them enjoy not playing in the main game Saturday 😂

Playing in back to back to Grand Finals. You keep towing the line and see how you go.
All for powelly playing in 2 grand finals that’s a great effort but fast forward 5 years when your clubs in disarray because of player shortage. I’m not sure the 7 a graders you recruited will be present and you will be scratching your head. There’s a bright future at warby hopefully they maintain there list moving forward because the way footy is going I think you would agree if you have local talent that’s the key to sustainability anyway that’s only my opinion. Hopefully Justin gets up for the grand final he looks like a liability.

To be fair to Powelltown, it's a town of 200 people. They're not exactly going to have the numbers for a steady flow of juniors into the seniors. It's a miracle they're still able to sustain a footy club.

Even worse that they’ve chosen to not be aligned to any junior feeder club.

Come clear pineapple
If you have heard the foul language that comes out of the powelly supporters mouths on game day ,the pineapple fits that profile.
Pineapple=Powelly

Legend of the field or you could have the opinion that it someone from Powelly who likes to slag off at other clubs, not sure if your point though.
So if Powelly win on the weekend, are they going to challenge themselves and seek to go up to division 1? Surely back to back flags would mean they would
And yes I am aware there is no promotion to division 1 but as footballers and competitors do they want to challenge themselves in a better grade of footy (supposedly)
I am sure with the current list and a bigger salary cap they would want to do this.
Thoughts?

All of Div 2 might be going up to Div 1 !!!

Not involved mate so have no opinion on it, it’s a town of 200 people with not a lot of option other than to recruit to stay alive or some on here would wish they fell over so they could say I told you so, but if the league president who was at the footy Saturday is true to his word there will only be 2 divisions so everyone is going up so it won’t matter will it

Legend of the field so how do you think Powelly would go in Division 1
Obviously salary cap is greater so you would have more opportunity to recruit or not recruit and pay current players more $$
In terms of the size of the town who cares, like I have said it’s a team of imports, I guess the issue will be when the money dries up or people move on then what happens to the club then?
I think you would agree committee and coaches like to leave clubs in a better way than they were when they arrived, don’t worry about during their time there, the next 12-24 months after people move on
Will the club still be competitive and sustainable or will it become another Jacana from EDFL

Wouldn’t have a clue mate as I said not involved but if you look at clearances over the last 10 years Powelltown have bought in 10 to 12 players a year so if their recruitment team do a good job as they’ve done in the past they’ll be fine if not they’ll struggle, paraplegic retire from footy all the don’t don’t they won’t be any different this year I would suggest especially if they win 2 in a row

Legend of the field but you have good knowledge of Powelly and the AFLOE so do you think, with the current list of imports they would be competitive in division 1?
Not sure what you are trying to say at end of your message about paraplegia?

The coach who is going for back to back premierships on Saturday, if he was to leave/retire do you think the imports would still stay and play at Powelly?

I think you should win on Saturday with the list of players that have been recruited into Powelly over the last few years. Not sure any other club in division 2 has had the salary cap $$ to afford them all

Or if there is a change of coach on the furore, would those that have been recruited stay and keep playing or move with the coach

As long as Hallam and Belgrave remain, there's 4 wins!!

Meant to say people retire sorry
If they keep them all they’ll win more than they loose, but there is 4 over 35 and 8 over 30 so who knows mate back to back flags might be enough for them, can’t work what all the fuss is about, they (Powelltown) have recruited like this for years only difference is when they finish 3rd, 4th or 5th as they did if the previous 5 years no one seemed to care about them, their recruitment has got better over the last 2 years and added some quality to some already great players especially Wratten, and it’s an issue to all on here, just sounds like sour grapes to me but that’s footy at local level everyone wants to hate the club that’s winning hey

I don't think anyone got an issue with powelly recruiting players ,well they shouldn't.
Its the number of A graders that they somehow can fit into a 75k cap.
Like pineapple has said where there is a will there is a way.

Fair enough mate but when you get past 30 not everyone plays for as much money as you think Joel Perry as an example played 20 years of senior footy without a flag till last year, money wasn’t the major factor it was family, friends and a chance to win a flag and he got it, numbers are very easy to exaggerate when your looking for a story but as I said been watching the haters in this league for 35 years so nothing surprises me

Its hard not to think that something going on under the table mate, based on the amount of locals playing in that side.
Let's be honest powelly not just around the corner , youd have to be on some good stan cash to play up their I would of thought.

This is what you love to hear. Had the opportunity to go Monbulk at the beginning of 2022 and they thought they had him for big coin. To turn your back on that is a credit to him.
