SEASON 2023

Think you’re very harsh about the timing of the commencement of the new CEO. Have you recently tried to employ someone? It’s often near impossible to find someone so kudos to the league for finding a good one. He will be a good appointment and do a really good job for the league. Sometimes it takes time to find the best appointment, better to do this than make a bad appointment and hire someone and it’s doesn’t work out.
localfootyguru so I asked these questions prior to christmas, nothing answered

Will Yea have a team in 2023?
Are Kinglake included in 2023 fixture?
Have Hallam been given assurances that they won’t have to travel to Broadford or Alex?
Are Narre looking to depart in 2024?
Why have comments been blocked on fixtures?

These are questions that new CEO can answer and provide transparency and clarity.

Questions that have been asked plenty of times.

There should have always been a succession plan in place. It’s nothing short of a joke that there’s been no one to answer a question for this long.

Many organisations lose their CEO or key leader and have to recruit. This is what the league did and they made an excellent appointment. If there was an internal candidate they could apply. If they didn’t recruit externally you would have been carrying on about the lack of transparency.

Instead of being so negative how about you look forward.. Negativity is very tiring and ultimately doesn’t help much. Positive constructive feedback and ideas do. Alternatively get involved.

Little bit harsh. At my company we've had a few senior management vacancies over the past year which have taken a few months to fill. Think you'll find that this is typical in the real world. Sometimes it's better to hold out a bit longer to get the right person. Very relevant at the moment. In terms of answering your questions, the office have been on holidays for a few weeks.

Aaron put out an offer a few weeks to meet and discuss anything. Where did you have that coffee? Or didn't you?

Ok did your company leave stake holders vulnerable while they looked to replace the position?

At the moment all 5 remaining clubs in Div 2 are left in a most vulnerable position due to league miss management.

Fair to say more than a handful across the other two divisions are purely just hanging on. The Under 19’s has been detrimental to most YV clubs and still nothing done to rectify it.

We have clubs getting preferential treatment in terms of fixtures and travel while others are left vulnerable.

Also again these league roles are not voluntary. Also why would I have a coffee with Aaron he no longer works in that role.

How do the Div 2 teams look forward?
No fixture and still getting fed garbage.

I guess that last statement is based on a heavily inflated opinion of the importance of your questions.
As for Connell: that was a great choice by the League. He is very well credentialled and should be a huge asset with his experience, contacts and understanding. I wish him well.

Given that the new CEO starts Feb which is such poor management in it self. It’s safe to assume by the time he gets through the bullshit he’s been fed a fixture will be March. Considering the Commission and League are still peddling out garbage to clubs like talks with Kinglake are positive and more likely staying. Yea even though couldn’t get 20 players total last year and haven’t yet signed a coach will definitely have two teams. Both just bullshit.

Belgrave and Hallam will just be cannon fodder in Div 1 but have been promised they won’t have to travel over the hill. It’s pretty obvious to all that Div 1 and 2 has to be combined.

It’s clear that $$$$ is the objective not clubs long term future.
You must have had a hard life.
Can't find any bit of joy in your posts.
Chill

Stake holders vulnerable? Please...

Aaron recently posted that he is willing to sit down and have a chat to anyone about any questions they might have. (Even though technically he is under no obligation).

You seem to have an armful of questions.

You don't want to sit down with Aaron?

I'm starting to see that you don't actually want any answers!

I think it would be more relevant if any questions were put to the new CEO instead of the old CEO.

There would be a better chance of it being actioned by Brett than by someone who is no longer in the role.

That said, I would hope that Brett would have a coffee with the key club contact from each club one-on-one to get their opinions and beliefs so he has the knowledge and understanding of where clubland lies at present so that the league moves forward on the right path.

Clearly you have never been involved at club level. To suggest clubs that don’t have a fixture at the end of January doesn’t leave them vulnerable shows your ignorance.

Where is Narre going to go that’s any different to the football situation they are in at the moment and that doesn’t divide the club from a netball -football perspective? Many clubs have prospered with the integration of netball /football combined and collectively it does represent true community sport. It’s a difficult situation.

Perhaps they have figured out that moving leagues and some compromise between both footy and netty will be better off overall for the club? Also no country comp that combines the two will take them!

Clearly them playing in this league is just ridiculous. Look at the results. That’s not good for anyone.

The league should be moving them along, not Narre electing to leave.

SFNL provides them with competitive football and the ability to play Netball on Saturdays at their ground at home games. It would also allow them to reconnect with some old rivalries. Seems a pretty good fit to me.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think all Netball in the SFNL gets played at Dingley Village Courts ? (Springvale Netball Assoc)

Incorrect if clubs have courts then they are eligible to use them. I know some clubs already use their own and run matches next to the footy eg: Keysy and some clubs have put courts in at their grounds so can accommodate it as well eg: Mordialloc

Cranbourne returned to SFNL and won many games by 10plus goals and won the flag so adding Narre just moves the problem to another league. EFL provides an opportunity to find their right level but at a cost of Saturday Netball.

Cranbourne lost 5 games throughout the season and only just won the Prelim and Grand Finals. I think it was a perfect fit for them. SFNL has improved immensely in the past 10 years and will continue to do so especially with the advent of Cranny and Narre being added in.
