Ata Glance i did ask what clubs had upcoming practice matches but no reply
Hoping as clubs get games located in then we can post, be good to go and watch a few pre-season games across the valley

Yes agree. Not sure who we’ve got in pre season games as yet but have Upwey round 1. Have heard they’ve recruited well and should be a definite finals contender so will be interesting to see where we are at.

Word around the traps is powelly are gone, I hope they can fill two teams and netball and get going this year.
On all the rumors when is it fair if true for powelly to let the league and other clubs know that they have fell short??
Fixture out ,will it cause issues for the other teams in Div 1 if they pull the pin just before of rd1??
I think its fair to everyone that a decision needs to be made sooner rather than later

Reap what you sow. We all heard the rumours.

Would the league and the other clubs accept them if they do not field a reserves side.
The viability of the club has to be questioned (maybe before pouring millions into facilities) . The Mill is gone and the town is tiny. Yarra Junction is nearby and hardly setting the world on fire either. I get its an important part of the community and very unfortunate.

Just checked and no it didn't happen.

Put the ball in the clubs court.
I did delete that post as I also checked. It was 2022 where Broadford and Yea could not field reserves sides and from memory they merged during the season so they could field a 1,s and 2,s combined side.Is a problem in some country leagues where small towns can not field reserves sides but they are allowed to field a 1,s side but not sure whether the Outer East or their clubs would allow this to happen now.

As I posted you're either all in or pay a MASSIVE fine. Why should other clubs be financially disadvantaged.

Broardford had to go into recess as they couldn't get a reserves team up this season. They also have five netball teams that caters for all the leagues grades. Powelltown are battling for two and they want to play C and D.

The biggest problem for Broadford if they did play outer east is the distance to travel to their away games if they were in D2 and perhaps the reason why they are struggling to field a reserves side.Is a real problem in country football the distance some teams have to travel.Ask the question if Poweltown did not field a reserves side how badly is that going to financially effect clubs who only play their 1,s. only. The biggest concern I suppose if they were allowed to play with only 1 side and not competitive it would financially effect clubs they play.

Hosting a day with one game would be a financial nightmare.

Round 1 is April 13th. I'd make a call one month out whether you're in or out. Fixture can then be adjusted to remove the bye.

If they're out and have anything to offer (a small group of players, volunteers, any assets) then perhaps they seek an understanding to go to another club together with a view toward a merger in 2025. IF there are any takers.

Has to be earlier engagement from the league on these clubs. Set targets and timelines.

March 13th is far to late for opposing clubs.

It's not ideal, but it's a balance between an early notice and giving them every chance.

Other clubs will understand, it's not an enormous imposition and efforts can be made to have minimal fixture changes.

Not sure I would go that far as you could have curtain raisers like U18/U19 or even womans games but understand where you are coming from.Would be more of a issue for Powelltown as they would only have 1 game and at this stage look highly unlikely to field a reserves side.

Fixture changes are a nightmare for clubs. Most clubs have social functions booked players book holidays on byes.

Without being to brutal I'd say if you've lost 25 players before Christmas you know your folding.
