Furies Press Conference - Thursday 8th of September
A crowd is forming at Punt Road in their gym. News camera crews are everywhere, reporters have taken their seats in the front row. 1 journalist is making a final adjustment to his microphone on the table where Michaels is sitting who takes a sip of his Gatorade before the weekly press conference begins.
Furies Media Manager: Alright guys we are ready to go, Michaels is here for 10 minutes to answer some questions about this weeks game. Fire away.
Hutchy: 3 losses in a row now Michaels, how do the Furies plan on responding this week after having such a solid start to the season?
Michaels: Look there is no denying our form over the past few weeks has been a bit down. We had a really positive team meeting during the week, _Cayz_ and Gentlemen made a really big focus on what we need to do this week to get back on the winners list.
Hutchy: Are you able to share what the big focus is to get on the winners list?
Michaels: To kick a bigger score than the opposition.
The room fills with laughter
Michaels: But seriously, we just need to be harder at the contest. Our physicality has dropped off the past couple of weeks and its something we usually pride ourselves on. Thankfully we have someone we can all target this week.
Hutchy: Who are you targeting?
Michaels: The man now known as Judas, sante .
Hutchy: But why? He just left the club for better opportunity.
Michaels: Listen here Hutchy. Sante left us chasing the big coin. He didn’t want to comply with our player payment plan which has allowed us to bring in new talent to the club, Sante is all about himself so he decided to join the shit stain of a club he is at now.
Hutchy: And that’s reason to target him in a match?
Michaels: Absolutely. He turned his back on us and will pay the price. I know that joelsyt is especially keen to get hold of him.
Damo: What about your forward line, can they kick a big enough score this week?
Michaels: We have full faith in Tarkyn_24 , RodneyDangerfield , Nuffers and the other forwards to get the job done for us this week. They are all experienced players and we back them in.
Damo: What about flaps ?
Michaels: Flaps has been a bit messy by his own admission the last fortnight, but he has taken an absolute pounding on the training track this week by Sterge so we know he will be a lot tighter this week when it comes to defensive pressure.
Damo: The Demons seem pretty confident that they have it over you, can you see any way for them to win this game?
Michaels: You’re having a laugh aren’t you Damo? Have you seen their lineup? More holes in it than Swiss cheese. brucetiki , not up to it. cooney , a shadow of his former self. lion around always MIA. They just don’t have the talent we do.
Damo: Is it true you were approached by the Demons to join them before this season started?
Michaels: That is correct. I appreciate and respect the fact they were trying to bring some quality into their side but when you’re at a club like the Furies who have such a rich history and quality players you just can’t give that up.
Furies Media Manager: Alright, last question and then we have to wrap it up.
Damo: What are your expectations for the game this week?
Michaels: I expect the Furies to get back onto the winners list this week. Our midfield will run riot giving the forwards some silver platter service while the Demons are left to lick their wounds. The are going to struggle to stop akkaps who has been great since coming across to us.
We have some exceptional leaders at the club and after the week we have had on the track everyone is fired up and ready to go.
