Tough session ahead today ahead of our chartered flight to Dragon Island on Sunday morning.
Tony Lynn 15 and TheCoach16 have been good enough (or foolhardy enough) to let me lead a few training sessions this week as part of my Level 4 Coaching Credential.
So line-up young Bombers, and get ready for some pain.
First, our rookies CJMB and CazC30 need to hit the gym – you are looking light and need to get your bodies to that level where you can play a full season of Qooty.
CALL ME SNAKE and ctacp are the fittest at the club and need no weights, so I’ve organised some extra-curricular fan engagement for you both. Our fan base is growing but this remains an important, ongoing activity. Be sure to pick up your riot squad gear as per normal protocol.
TL gave me a peak at our skinfold data and my god, KohPhi – you my friend are on extra running sessions… from now until Sunday morning. In fact, just run to Dragon Island… don’t ask me if its possible, just do it. Second thought… for someone with your abilities, I’m sure you can make it work.
I bleed Blue and Blue__Balls need a bit of claret – not enough red on their skin from the game. Bruise free footy is not the way we do things around here. So extra contact training for you two today.
crowmyzone, WFL, VSTone and WaynesWorld19 took to the step up in responsibility last week quite well, but I noticed the mental side of their game needs work. Took their eyes off the ball a few times. So they’re on some targeted match review all day, then can join the rest of the team for repeat sprints.
Just so you don't feel left out, I've allocated extra rhythm and agility training for our two captains - bringing in some professionals to help. The uniforms are mandatory, too, I'm afraid.
Now, teamwork is one of the key pillars in our regime, so it's important we are totally in sync. We're not that far off already, but a 10 minute burst of Swedish group push-ups will do us wonders.
Finally, to end the day you will all join me for our customary simulated 37.25km run - three to a treadmill. If you drop, you’ll be dropped for the week. If you spew, you’ll be on a strict Baghdad Bitter hydration program until Sunday. If you lag behind, run too far ahead or lose focus – you will be relegated to the bench. Do I make myself clear?
We'll be stringing wins together in no time, Bombers.
Now go have a rest. You've earned it.
