Well folks we did it! The good news is we have successfully gotten through the first week Ant Bear ‘s reign of terror with little issues. The bad news is, we have many many more to get through. Here we stand at week two of the Dictators reign, but not to worry. I think we have the strength to get through this painful ordeal. Now sit back and relax whilst your old pal ND takes you through a journey that features these two sides.
This week, the Warriors and the Dragons will face off at the arena that is Van Cortlandt Park. Both sides are coming off Round 1 losses. The Warriors, who seemingly haven’t recovered from the S27 Prelim loss, were hammered by the Royals. The Dragons on the other hand suffered a loss at the hand of the reigning premiers. Which side will start off 2.0 and which side needs to start looking to the future?
Last time they met:
S27 Round 7
Coney Island Warriors 16.10 (106) lost to Dragons FFC 17.6 (108)
In what was a high scoring, close encounter, the Dragons dominated for much of the game, however were almost pipped in the final quarter. The Dragons were a goal up in the first quarter and then dominated the Warriors in the second and third quarters. The Warriors fought back hard in the fourth booting 5 goals, however the Dragons managed to hang on and win by 2 points. pantskyle was Best on Ground, followed by Wooshette who dominated in the ruck. For the winning side, ex skipper PhenomenalV1 kicked a bag of 5 whilst AceAndy, Blaze Storm and Bluella dominated in the midfield.
Players to Watch
Warriors:
Wooshette
Backed up a terrific S27 in Round 1 in the Warriors loss to the Royals. Had 30 disposals, took 11 marks and scored 115 DT points. Will she dominate against the Dragons like the last time they met?
Raveneyes
Kicked a bag of 5 the last time the teams met, kicked 4 in Round 1 against the Royals. Might need a bag of 8 or 9 to get the Warriors over the line this time.
Dragons:
@kingslayer
The newbie had an excellent debut against the reigning premiers. Destroyed SparkleNarkle in the ruck with 16 hit outs, had 20 disposals and laid 3 tackles.
Hatchy1992
Some might question his off-field captaincy but you can’t question him on field. Hatchy was one of the Dragons best against the Rats round 1 with 19 disposals, 8 marks and booting 2 goals.
NDs prediction: Dragons by 15 points
