What it needs to be paired with are strong meats and spices to contrast the sweetness and juiciness of the pineapple. Not bland ham.

Look sundried tomato on a pizza, olives or anchovies are all free game.

Pineapple I am happy to draw the line at.

Also having lived in Malaysia for over 4 months in 2018 I am pretty happy with my palate.
