Hello all!

As part of my education in all things SFA I must admit I am unfamiliar with the hierarchy and classification under the Linnaean system for mythological creatures.

Are Phoenix a species under the dragon family?

Is dragon the order, phoenix the genus, and east side the species?

We are both at least under the phylum of ‘great winged, flying creatures’ and so I believe the correct greeting
Hi Tim
My understanding is that we are Genus Volans , Phylum Ignis and of course , Order Of the Phoenix!

So we not only have fire in common, but also flying
Sorry since you’re a Port fan but another acceptable greeting would be #weflyasone

The bad news for dragons is that their main weapon, fire, is actually our home ;)

That burrito is calling my name... (it's 9:17am here and I've not eaten yet)
I hope you had a delicious brunch earlier
As an aside - I spent a week in Ireland, basing myself in Dublin back in June and loved it :)

‘Hello brothers - may we fly free!’

Whilst it may be true that the Phoenix species (or genus) could be argued that it’s under the dragon umbrella, it’s akin to us being lions and our opponents being cats. It sounds way less cool and is a much less intimidating force than the mighty Phoenix!

If we are looking at the evolutionary paths of both mythical creatures, yes, we both share a common ancestor.

That ancestor being, of course, Archosauria. Dragons are a direct offshoot of these ancient beasts, while the Phoenix, are a much younger creature, requiring the evolution of archosaur > dinosaur > bird.

Additionally, while the most common representation of dragons breath in mainstream media is fire, we are actually much more diverse than that.

You’re dead, we’re not. That’s what’s important.

Be back later - like you don’t know that. 😛
Looking forward to cricket starting, though. 😀
I think the acronym the cool kids are using these days is brb

As for the cricket, not looking for forward to the BBL as much as the other leagues. Better quality overseas
