Im reading this thinking this is a great parody of our teammate Zevon and I'm thinking he has gone through some ****ed up s**t

I was crying I was laughing then I was angry - ANGRY that YOU yes YOU tricked me and it was about a real person

But I digress this is his best song - this may be my funeral song if I can move my finger to hit play

I was late to discover the real Zevon, he was already dead when I came across his music. Keep Me in Your Heart was the first song of his I ever heard, in an episode of Californication no less. I still didn’t jump down the rabbit hole into his other work until later but it got me through a very difficult part of my life when I did.

Don’t listen to him as much these days but he seems to have a knack of getting me through hard times so I’ll be forever indebted to him for that.

Werewolves of London was a classic as a teen and lyrically very good

I first heard Keep Me In Your Heart on Tony Delroys late show while I was going through some heartbreak and it resonated - just those simple things a lover does that we call back when doing them ourselves

I can see we’re wise to be a little cautious in our communications here.

The authorities are always keeping an eye out for experimental chemistry, but it’s no secret that Peyote and San Pedro are both cacti that contain Mescaline.

IMG_2362.jpeg

While San Pedro grows quickly and is abundant in the wild, Peyote grows very slowly, with a natural habitat under threat from mining and agriculture.

As commercial interest grows, so does the value of rare mescaline cacti seeds, and cloning is rife in the quest to develop new strains.

Online auctions of small plants can sell for thousands of dollars. You could be onto something here fellas.

Been a few different names over the journey.

Did his best work as someone else
Same could be said for another Royal who is painfully shy around us - the artist formerly known as Krakouer

No, of course he didn’t change his name to Krakouer Bonar or KrakouerPhat

Quite simply, he went krakouers

I've never really understood the idea of people using song lyrics by someone else to get them through a tough time. But then in terms of relationships I've never been through a tough time. Married once, still married, 35 years and she's the first person whose hand I ever held. So maybe if I had gone through that sort of emotional turmoil I'd get it a little more.

Are you into music though?

I’m not big on lyrics myself.

I'm into music and lyrics. Love listening to a person's thoughts that they have taken the effort to put into poetry and set to music. I just don't look into it to find solace, I find it in my life the people around me whom I know, and who know me. Not some stranger who wrote it either to make money or for their own catharsis.

Having said that my wife is a poet and was, until this month, the chair of the Qld Writer's Centre's board. So, although I have won a couple of national writing competitions (Bush ballads) I typically don't tend to engage in writing, to avoid stepping on her toes.
