I collect lovely editions of books from a UK store; I get the limited editions which are often around $1k (I think the most expensive one I own is Shakespeare's Complete Plays, limited run of 1000 off the top of my head, cost $2.5k not including postage). Even the normal editions are $100+. But literature is my passion, and I like owning them. Never mind a lot of them are still in their boxes as I have nowhere to put them until I get a bigger place...

Where it gets problematic is my other passion of music. Like everyone, I stream off my phone. But I like to support the artists, hence I still buy CDs, even if I never use them. But, I've started collecting vinyl due to it being th superior format; limited editions, and also signed LPs from the merch desk after a gig. I don't even have a record player

Vinyls are another one of my vices, have a pretty extensive collection, add a few every month. I at least own a record player but admittedly even when home, streaming music is a bit easier.
