Don't think it's over yet folks. We have to find a way to get up next week (home ground + desire) and then I think we start as a pretty good chance against Port who have had the week off. McStay will be back then to give us a better chance at cracking the Allir Code.

It's strange I feel twice as confident about beating port away than I feel about this weekend's game

Lets find a way to get past Dogs first. Prelim looks way too far atm. Since its Gabba I have some faith.

100% capacity as well apparently, hope the team feeds off all the energy from the Gabba stands !!

Whoever plays on Weightman will need to be careful tackling him. He does the shoulder shrug and duck as well as anyone in the league

Was one of today's umpires named Weightman by any chance? At least two of Weightman's goals came from non-frees; he only had to get near the ball to get a whistle.

Hopefully, he's used up all of his luck, and Karma prevails next week.

AFL website still has TBC for the time. Wonder whats the wait..
Probably still gathering information re if we/Bulldogs have to quarantine, any restrictions etc, may want whoever wins to fly out on the same day which would require an afternoon/twilight bouncedown.

I know Fagan said he continue the same
I love him to throw some chess pieces around. Think he said Ah Chee not back
Now those looked cooked Gardiner, Birchall and Andrews.
If they injured we cannot go with all of them down back

Fullarton,Gardiner and McStay out
T Berry, Lester and Payne in.
Tempted to bring Archie in as Dogs playing Young as a Ruck more then English so stretch them
Although as others have said Andrews out of sorts in the back line and English and Naughton beat him before.
Move him forward. Or we move Big O forward.
Fullarton cannot play McStays role or Ballenden or B Coleman or McFayden.
Need someone to make sure the ball gets to ground in marking contests
Big O or Andrews can.

Adams been more solid then Andrews or Gardiner of late

Dogs have some of the most prolific duckers in the league (Hunter, Weightman, Macrae etc.) who are very good at leading with their head into contests and dropping their knees on the anticipation of contact while throwing their head back. You don't end up with a +80 free kick differential (more than double the next highest) for no reason.

We're a high tackling team, so it's going to be important for us to tackle low and not lose our cool when they inevitably con the umpire into some free kicks.

Dogs want a day game so they don’t have to sit in their hotel all day apparently

Hmm I'm a bit conflicted on this one. Since we finished above them hope we have a choice here.

They played in wet so a day game under the sun is not a bad idea for us. At the same time, if they really hate staying locked up - may be leave them stuck in hotel rooms :p. Night game would bring dew factor and slippery ball which works for us as well.

Really is a bit of a joke that the Bulldogs have to stay cooped up in the hotel room all day in Brisbane, they have been in Covid free Tasmania and will be there until flying out Friday for Brisbane and would have or could have multiple Covid tests before flying out... for gods sake let them out of their kennel, utter madness.

Just thought I'd pop in to say that most Doggies supporters do rate you; I think it's just a bit of post-game bravado. You guys have been in ripping form, you just ran into a quality team last week. McStay out might be a big help, but you still have a lot of weapons and are always a different team up there. Hard pressed to see Naughts kicking more than 2-3 up against Andrews and Adams. And Weightman's never getting KOTD that much again in his career.

Here's to a good match with no injuries for the winner so, in defiance of that annoying pre-game ritual, they can tear Port apart.

Cheers guys.

You're not the only one.

Edit: just forced myself to give myself percentages and it's at least 1.5 times - 40% vs 60%.

Lester in for Gardiner (injured)
AhChee for Birchall (injured) if AhChee is fit, if not, Madden
And Ballenden in for McStay (Concussion)
I heard there was a practice match today against the Southport Sharks. Wonder how some of the fringe players went?
some of the fringe players have not had a game for awhile so a good strategy, if we are going to have and should have changes for next week against the Dogs.

I notice that there seems to be a consensus that Fullerton should be dropped, and Ballenden brought in or Adams moved forward.

Could you hypothetically just go smaller? Feel like Fullarton or Ballenden would play into the Dogs hands, whereas a small forward line could cause the Dogs some headaches. They completely nullified Essendon's tall forwards today.

Maybe something like: McStay, Cockatoo, Prior, Gardiner, Fullerton for Ah Chee, Robertson, T Berry, Payne, and Madden

I reckon this forward line could cause them a few headaches:
Zorko - Cameron - McCarthy
Ah Chee - Daniher - Bailey
