So you'd rather be playing the Dogs in Perth this week? Because that's precisely what would be happening if our roles were reversed.
That's the salient point . We spent a lot of tickets in that WC game and you have to give yourself the double chance but we played cooked last week.

We've got a real battle to beat the Dogs at the Gabba and if we can manage that I'd give the season a tick in view of everything.

The selectors have a lot to think about because if the same Andrews and Gardiner turn up fitness wise with Birchall also looking proppy we're very vulnerable.

We had many players down on form last week & lost McStay after 8%TOG
We lost the 1st half by 30 mainly the 2nd quarter by 22
We only lost the 2nd half by 3
We are favorites with the bookies at present Lions $1.60 Dogs $2.65
We play at the Gabba 7.20pm and don't have to travel
We will find out who deserved to finish 4th on the ladder
After writing this i now need to wee

Beg to disagree, I’d be having some harsh words with the conditioning staff if the players just get “cooked” after a game that sure had a lot riding on it but was hardly the most challenging game we’ve played. In fact I’d argue that was ideal finals preparation. I think our structure got completely rattled after McStay went down a bit like Hipwood injury and we just hit the panic button in the 2nd quarter where the game was lost. We just needed to adapt with a pinch hit player who could quickly replace McStay, I know hard unless you have players like Leppa, Chris Scott or Vossy and hell I remember a game in 2001 against the kangaroos where Lynchy played as full back on Wayne Carey!

Sounds like Ah Chee might be a chance now.

Lester for McStay.
Ah Chee for Cocky.
Dev Robertson for Prior.

B: Gardiner Harris Starcevich
HB : Rich Adams Coleman
C: McClugg Zorko M.Robbo
HF: McCarthy Daniher Bailey
F: Fullarton Cameron J.Berry
R: Oscar Lyons Neale

I: Birchall Lester Ah Chee D.Roberton. Med Sub Tom Berry.

Clearly Darcy and Harris are playing injured but I just can't see Fagan and co dropping them.

Make Tom Berry medical sub. Gives us energy and pressure.

Lynchy was the best full back in the game when he was at Fitzroy. Lockett and a couple of others said he was the best they ever played on.

If we can just manage to scrape in the Grand Final with a win over Dogs and Port?
Last weeks loss may be the best thing that ever happened.
A week off before the Grand Final and come up against that same team again could be the recipe they need to atone and show them who is boss.

Does anyone else get ridiculously stressed about buying finals tickets? Heart rate is flying. I'm absurd.
I am so far a little calmer this year.
The first year we made finals, I was stressing big time, especially to get tickets to the Richmond qualifying final in 2019, that was a nightmare.

Hey all, I come in peace ✌️ Thought this may be relevant info for our match: 320EF6F1-DD0D-4B19-BA09-4941D43CD895.jpeg
All the best for the game. Hope for no injuries to the winning team, so they can knock off Port 👍 Love watching Charlie Cameron play!

Mike Whiting on Twitter just now FWIW:

“Saw 15mins of brisbanelions training before they went behind closed doors. Andrews in rehab group (as he has been every Tuesday this season). Gardiner and Birchall taking part in drills to warm up. Positive sign was Cal Ah Chee out there and doing some quick running.”

What's Harris need to be in rehab for??

True but he always played full forward under lethal like Leppa who was swung the other way but also played as very effective pinch hit forward on many occasions under lethal. The point I was making was that our game style could benefit from a pinch hit type of KP player who could not only fill a hole but also ruffle some opposition feathers.

I think the dees loss hurt me more than the Tigers QF loss in 2019, no disrespect to Melbourne but I didn’t rate them highly for finals after they conceded 9 goals in a row to Geelong a week before and I really thought our boys were going to come out and pummel them physically, let’s hope there’s a redemption rematch!

I think that was the problem, we really didn’t play a physical brand of footy.
And allowed them to dictate terms.
