On par with Don's Party in understaning part of the Australian Psyche...it's not Wolf Creek with the gore.

I enjoyed Wake In Fright very much, to the tune of about 4 watches and counting.

I found Don's Party slightly irritating, haven't gone back after one viewing.

Some aspects of the Aus psyche are beyond me, I suppose.

There's so much of Don's Party that is stuck in a bygone era. The political situation of 1969 has to be fully explained as it's crucial to the plot.

Makes sense. There must be deeper context behind the strawmen characters. I also thought it's frequent focus on extramarital sex was a pandering distraction. Just struck me as "meh."

Again, it's dated. As a play it's difficult to perform because the attitudes portrayed are so backward. In many ways, it is typical of most of David Williamson's plays in that they are rooted in the time that they are written and don't transpose well.
