Well done to the Thornton players who figured so high in the averages David Evans and Andy Phelps they had great seasons also a mention on Mark Currie who took 27 wickets which must have gone close to the most wickets in the b grade.
Just another query what is the formula to work out the allrounders award ? Thought 1 of our guys would have gone very close. If someone can post how it works it would be good then we can follow the same formula. Thanks

Runs = 1 point
Unassisted wicked (bowled, lbw) = 15 points
Assisted wicked = 10 points
Catch, Stumping = 5 points
These points accumulate for the all rounder for the year.
They also go towards calculating the 3,2,1 votes for each game, which then is used to calculate the eg. Frank Zanelli Medal (different for each grade)

Thanks for that 12th man.
Done the sums for one of our guys and I'm not sure who does the league one but David Evans from Thornton should have finished top of All Rounder award I believe.

394 Runs = 394
7 Ass. Wickets = 70
3 Unass. Wickets = 45
5 Catches = 25

Total = 534 points.

It looks to me that the league have missed the 34 Dave made against Tallarook. Anyway I will get our guys to get a hold of the league to check.

Unusually quiet on this board for this time of year. Any star recruits or signings, departures, stars returning to the league, early season predictions, rumours, rule changers or anything of any interest happening around the league?
Only thing iv heard down south is that a particular E/Hill young man is looking for a leadership role for the upcoming season and whispers of possible Twenty20 fixtures being played during the season

I heard that too, but as an ultimatum to the club. :eek:

Prediction: M Enrico to bowl more this season for Avenal :thumbsu:

Only news from up this way is that Thornton will be fielding B and C grades side this year which is great for our club. Alot of guys who havent played for a while were interested and are keen to play this year add to that some more younger guys and 3 or 4 others coming back from Melbourne to play this year that will slot into the B grade so hopefully we can have a good fun year

Any chance you guys have put in a turf wicket up there yet?

No Mouche no turf up here and doubt very much we would see one in the near future unless of course we were to enter an A grade which at this stage is unlikely any time soon

Really? I thought that it was part of the requirements you guys had to fill when you were admitted into the SDCA within a couple of season. Guess not then :confused:. But Doona is right it looks like you guys are really going forwards to double your output inside a season is a great effort. Good luck to ya

Not sure it was set in stone that we had to get one, it will be and was certainly looked at though but we would require some good funding from the shire to get it up and running which I doubt will happen.
If we were told we had to get one we would certainly try to get one up and running but if we couldnt then may just have to be in c grade

I wouldnt think anything extreme like that would be in order. To be honest with ya i wouldnt worry about it im not even sure it was an issue when you guys where welcomed into the league.

On a side note a bomb shell :eek: may have shaken the rooms off their foundations down here at the Kilmore Cricket Club committee meeting with the appointment of a new captain/coach for the 2009/10 season keep your eyes pearled more details in the next few days. Will surely spicen up the coming season:thumbsu:

The only whispers that iv heard in the past week or so now is that seymour have opened the cheque book (maybe the residue ground development $$ maybe not depending on whos telling the tale) to secure the services of a few more the handy cricketers into the top grade to bounce back up the ladder

Fair to assume after your earlier post they're not on their Pat Malone threre :rolleyes:

Reading a facebook post the other day see that T.Blackwell and X.Youngman are making the move to Kilmore, a couple of handy inclusions no doubt.

Its fair to say the news that mouche is itching to break has been out for a week now, big pick up for the kilmore lads, where does it leave the the other club?

Its been out for alot longer than a week mate im just trying to build a little excitment on this board its been far too quiet for far too long.
Not exactly sure where Xavier is at but the club is pleased to announce that appointmnet of Trav Blackwell as senior captain coach.

amazing pick up by kilmore to get one of the better players in the sdca.

they must have offered some serious dough for this deal to be done??

also like to get an explanation from someone from pucka as to why they have only included 2 c grades and not an b and c?? surely the have the quality of players out there to field a b grade or is a matter of the 2 day game and fielding sides??

Yeah it's interesting Jazzy - numbers would have to be the problem
This will create a bye in B grade unless of course Nagambie have an A grade side because at the AGM they nominated B and C grade but asked when was the latest they could inform the league of having A grade
