Moorabbin will hold their own next year and will not be "slaughtered"...

You will be competitive for the first couple of games but once it gets into the middle of the season, with injuries and players realizing they are out of their depth, you are going to get some decent hidings. Bottom 2. Big jump from Div 3 to Div 2.

I think the jump from Div 2 to Div 1 is a lot bigger. I can't remember any teams coming up from Div 3 then going straight back down. The top end of Div 3 are usually competitive enough in Div 2. We made the Grand Final in our first Div 2 year, and Skye is the favourite for next season's premiership (is it too early to start that yet MadMan?) after coming up only a couple of seasons ago. I think the top end of Div 2 has gotten significantly better in the last couple of seasons, but Moorabbin should be competitive enough.

its good to be back in div 2 again moorabbin the french cup is alive and up for the thanking

Moorabbin and Mordialloc in, East Malvern and SouthYarra/Blackrock gone. 2012 over and what a year it was! We picked up Chris Worner as our new senior coach, a fantastic get! An absolute star of the MPNFL and will turn the comp on its head!
I see Springy found a new coach in John Mctaggart, super star from Narre and Noble. No doubt will have a bit of pull over some good players. I heard that Lex isn't going on next year Fish. Any word on a successor?
Also heard a rumor that Steve Wright wont be coaching on next year with ODFC? Apparently a bit of a dust up (7 players vs the president) at the clubs presentation dinner was the straw that broke the camels back. Surely there is someone reading from Oakleigh that can shed some light?
BnFs??
Hampton: Josh Burbidge
East Malvern: Matt Carrol
Oakleigh:
Skye: John Hynes&Martin Watts
Murrumbeena: Matt Jones
Bentleigh: Scott Lawry

Anyone care to fill in the blanks...

It's on our website. We see your Chris Worner & raise you.....

Former South Yarra Best & Fairest winner (2010) Josh Gledhill has been announced as our new Senior Playing Coach. He's been in Swan Hill for two years with work commitments but we're very glad to have him back. Bernard Brady stepped down for personal reasons though he'll still be around the club (hopefully having a kick!) going forward. We all think he did a fantastic job in very trying circumstances, considering the position the club was in at the start of the year. Unfortunately we didn't get the results we were after but he's left the club in a very good position to bounce back and rebuild.

Everything I'm hearing is still pointing towards us being in Division Two next year. Our AGM is 29 October so will know more then.

It's what's happening, so we'll make the best of it regardless. I expect us to improve on 2012 which really followed a pretty disastrous Summer, but time will tell.

probably the best attitude you can have after we all know what happened re: the coaching situation on last season.

any recruits on the horizon? A big ask but can the new coach bring some from the Central Murray who have relocated to Melbourne?

you don't build a winning culture winning in lower divisions if you're only to go back up in a year or 2...if east malvern get blasted again like they did 2011 in div 1 would you say they built a winning culture?

i mean the 1's were 1 game out of the finals last year and the 2's made the prelim so it's not like we've been a basketcase for years or anything

i cannot wait to see what joshy has install for us

Another good get! Its great to see these higher profile names coming across to our comp. Its only going to make it stronger and grow the SFL brand.
You confindent you will hold onto majority of your senior list? Being in it up to your eyeballs the last couple of years you'd think your window will still be open next year..

I'm pretty sure most will definitely stay on. You'll have the odd coming & going, but the majority are excited about the appointment. Especially the colts coming up who the new coach a keen interest in developing these 16 potential recruits from within. Will depend on how many of those want to take the next step. I'd say 6-8 of them are ready made senior players

Not on the horizon just yet Frankencrow :)

I think playing off half back has rejuvenated him to play on for another couple. Still likes to wonder down into the forward line though to kick a few. Old habits die hard :D

One loss for the year and the last coach gets the arse? Tough out there at Bentleigh.
We're striving for nothing but excellence at Bentleigh. Haha nah Mick Lee is stepping away from football, there wouldn't be many seasons out of the last 20 years where he hasn't been a coach of a Bentleigh team whether it was juniors, U/19s or reserves. Top bloke, good coach, we'll miss him

its good to see moorabbin picking up some good players for next year oneof them won leages best /fairst in the bush
