Filling some of Pauly V's old role by the looks of things.

Burgoyne’s role, which is believed to be four days per week, will range across various sections of the club.

He will have an influence on list management, recruiting, mentoring and operations. He will also be Port’s Indigenous liaison officer, focusing on community programs.

The retired champion and 2004 premiership player will also help with government and corporate relations.

The bit I quoted in post #2 linked to this article by Tom Morris in April 2021 about clubs employing specific Indigenous liaison officers. At the time Port didn't employing anyone specifically, probably leaning on its long term indigenous community programs. So lloks like Shaun is taking up one of these roles and looks like its funded by the AFL. Cut and paste of relevant bits of the article.

The boss of the AFL Players’ Association has urged all clubs to employ an Indigenous liaison officer. Of the 18 teams, 10 do not have a specific staff member in place to support the unique demands of Indigenous players.

AFLPA chief executive Paul Marsh believes the role is an essential one in footy clubs, regardless of financial constraints.

WHAT THE AFL DID
At the end of 2020, the AFL was acutely aware the dent its financial cuts would have on football departments around the country.

Some clubs like Carlton had already made the necessary changes by the time the season finished, while others like Port Adelaide restructured their entire football department based on the new financial model, effectively starting from scratch.
......

To mitigate the damage, the AFL told clubs they would have access to a $200,000 inclusion retention allowance, which was introduced to help protect Indigenous and female staff and diversity in football departments.

Roles such as the dietitian didn’t receive the exemption, but sports science and coaching did. The $200,000 had to be spread across four different staff members at a maximum of $50,000 per employee.
