Does he mean an onfield crisis, or if, say, your washing machine breaks down mid-cycle and you need to lift it on to the nature strip?

i think he meant (with the exemption of merrett and walsh) hacks who he has been too patient with whereby most other clubs would have given up hope...

and Joel Reynolds, Ben Haynes and Peter Somerville...
His least favourite son is Ted Richards.
You are absolutely spot on with Henno. Groaned in the first game I saw him play. Was surprised to see one more. Let alone 50

Ben Haynes?

ben haynes is a dud but seems to get a game everytime he is available

Incorrect on both counts.
Ben Haynes isn't a star, but he has ability.

Sheedy has made Haynes earn his spot in the side more than anyone in recent history, and when he did get a game he got very little game time.

You look at the list and in each case, the players have had to work hard in all facets of their game to get to where they have become.

Every single one.

Take O'Donnell for example. Played 99 Reserves games before his first senior one.

Bolton is another. Had a year off injured when 19 and knuckled down tom play 79 games since the beginning of 2002.

Merrett is another. This guy won competition under 19's and reserves BnF's before becoming a regular senior player (and ultimately 300 gamer).

Henneman hasn't had it eay..though some people would disagree. He's lucky to still being able to play after that back injury in 2002.

Hamilton is very under-rated. And was wrongly sacked after 1992.

Considine was lucky to get a second chance at Sydney.

Walsh had his knockers, but, he represented Victoria on a number of occasions.

Daniher probably doesn't deserve to be on this list...so many knee recos.

Whilst Wally lacked skill, the players walked a lot taller with him out there.

Heard was a freak and much like Hamilton, under-rated.

Anyone who has even a shred of football knowledge would not describe either Neale Daniher or Gary O'Donnell as "hacks".......
