Bootsma is an absolute cert to go and almost a bigger cert to go at least top 35. A lot of clubs rate him highly, and I can't see him slipping past Freo's picks in the 20's.

Made a good call there C26, it'll be very interesting to see how this one ends up.

Inside Footy had both Bootsma and Hamling in the write up Draft Form but i think it is unrealistic to put them in the top 30 both for the rookie imo. I think the shifter may be caught out this year because of the eveness of the group 10-40 and with GWS upsetting the applecart as far as predictable selections. Last year his top 30 nearly all came up within the top 40 apparently....not a chance this year .

Unless I've missed someone, Michael Talia was the last of Sheahan's top 30 to get picked up, at number 39.

To some extant I'd have to say yes. Look at the inclusion of Bootsma for instance.

Maybe they look at his top 30 to help reinforce their view, he is the all knowing messiah of u/18 football.

Shifter doesn't know much about WA draftee's. I remember the coverage of the 09 draft, he admitted knowing little about Fyfe when his name got called out.

Halming and Bootsma are rookie prospects, will feature behind numerous other West Australians.

I think he knows a bit more than you think he does.

Don't forget clubs also consult Shifter as he works very close with the lads. He's on top of who's interviewing who as he is very close with players, player agents and recruiters.

Appart from doing this for longer than he'd probably want to remember and having a good eye, he's up to date with the latest.
