Who cares?
That was then, this is now. Now you need to extract every single bloody 0.05% out of your body that you can if you are to get to the top of the mountain. Instead our players go out and get wasted numerous times during the year whilst other clubs' players work hard, treat their bodies like temples.
Good going boys!!
Really? Why?
None of this detracts from what Fev did.
I would have thought a much more appropriate Xmas party would have been at a players house, where the players can have a drink in private, and do what they like there.
that is fine in theory, but there's a big problem with it - which is the one main reason it doesn't happen that way. Getting drunk is, in reality, only a small consideration.
This is because most of the boys on a list are between 18-25. Now... how on earth are they picking up a root at their mates house?!!!
I'm sorry, but let's be realists. That's probably the main reason they "go out", & who can blame them? That's where the girls are, not in the pool room at home!
These faux-solutions fail to take realities into consideration; and that is, young guys like the pussy! Fair enough too!
Can the AFL ban pussy ??
but then who would play for Collingwood?
WTF? Sticks is a successful businessman in his own right, perhaps he isn't as wealthy as a Pratt or a Mathieson, or even a Fitzpatrick, but that doesn't mean he isn't educated.
The fact is Sticks was thrust into the presidency role, on a temporary basis, due to the charges brought against Pratt by the ACCC. The deterioration in Pratt's health & his subsequent passing saw Sticks' role become permanent. Now there are a number of well credentialled individuals on the club's board & I certainly haven't heard or read anything to suggest there is any dissatisfaction within the board with the job Sticks is doing. Rest assured if Sticks was doing an ordinary job, there are enough healthy egos on our board who would be making a noise about this.
2 years ago these names would have been "untouchable" as our list wouldn't have coped with them going.Houlihan, Walker and Betts should all be sacked.
For the management to allow this unsactioned event to happen, without any one of them their is a disgrace. Leadership starts from the top, and we don't have any. Look at his comments, i will deal with it JAN 4, that just tell you what a idiot he is. No. you deal with it NOW, not F**ken 2 weeks on.
Another name I didn't see was Scotland. A Party boy from way back and now our oldest player or close enough to.........hopefully he has kept his nose clean.
What do we think about Sticks having lunch with Jack?
Regardless of what they were talking about, and given Sticks' comments earlier in the year about him not being welcome at the club, is this a good idea/bad idea for them to be seen in public together?
No CommentHad lunch with 30Man yesterday. Press are all over it suggesting a split away from BF into a new SuperForum format. We've been denying it but the phones keep ringing.

Hacks.
I'm going to the new Indian Premier Forum. Welcome to the majors.

Couldn't care less. Not a story. Would be more concerned if he had lunch with [insert name of innocuous person]

You don't think that Sticks looks a little like a hypocrite, having said about 6 months ago that JE is not welcome at the club. Probably wouldn't have bothered me so much had it just been Sticks and JE, but the fact there were also 5 board members present makes it look like an unofficial board meeting.
The article states that Sticks confirmed he had lunch with JE & five former board members. I have been trying to work out who they might have been, perhaps Lofts, Mathieson, Hunter, Diesel (who was on the board for a very short time), maybe even Colin De Lutis.
If it had been 5 current board members then the story might have some legitimacy, but lunching with a group of people, who are most likely just mates, does not translate to welcoming JE back into the 'fold'.
