Nah, I just don't have faith in humanity to turn the climate situation around in time to save all life on this planet. Too little, too few actually care.

The only way this works is that everyone will need to cut their consumption of any commodity that involves processing to make any significant difference.

Processing requires energy and unfortunately there is no alternative to carbon based fuels that can meet current demand.
That's wrong, it's not about personal consumption , it's about political decisions to stop new coal and gas and transition to renewables which is entirely do-able.
The resources minister is a front for the fossil fuel lobby and has worked in that sector all her life.
It's not that hard at all .
You can help influence things with your vote.

So basically you want to deny the world of energy? Energy that is needed to provide consumable products that you need to live with day to day. There is not a single process in your life that doesn't consume energy. Your interaction on this forum consumes energy including powering your devices. Those devices need to be manufactured, transported & stored which also consumes energy.

Sure we can be self sufficient and drive industry with renewables as we have the geography to support this. But other countries are going to continue to burn fuel at a rate that is unsustainable for the climate. We are a country of 24 Million, our carbon footprint is minuscule compared to India, China, US, Europe, Canada & Mexico which will be forging ahead with consuming more energy to sustain their economic growth. If we cant supply it, they will get it elsewhere.

Russia is literally dying to dump their oil & gas reserves onto the open market and they are a far bigger producer than we are.

Hundreds of the world’s leading climate scientists expect global temperatures to rise to at least 2.5C (4.5F) above preindustrial levels this century, blasting past internationally agreed targets and causing catastrophic consequences for humanity and the planet, an exclusive Guardian survey has revealed.
Clearly the answer here is for the AFL to get Woodside on as naming rights sponsor... May as well make some coin out of it :tongueclosed:

Looks like Adelaide has there’s as well.
*theirs

And yes we do. We have some of the dumbest folk you'll ever want to meet.

They love a good racist conspiracy theory or bashing of minority groups outside climate change denial.

You might like them, we have other boards cookers regularly join

AP typically focuses on fossil fuel sponsors. Without them, gambling, booze and Foxtel, do we even have an AFL?
Yeah I understand that, however the AFL does not have the power to influence sponsors.

It can 'frown' upon sponsors like Woodside of course, but that won't influence clubs / sponsors.

So again, how is that the AFL can have influence on climate change?

People all latch on to it with all their political ideologies but I do often thin it's got to be humanity's biggest problem, environmental impact debate put to one side how quickly can we completely replace a finite resource like fossil fuel that we rely so incredibly on.

It's not rocket science. You stop new coal and gas projects and expand renewable projects. Surely you know that?
Plus you don't allow one one the world's biggest polluters, Woodside, to sportswash by sponsoring Fremantle.
burge13 laughing at every post. So many dumb people allowed to vote.

Yeah you're definitely the level headed one of the 2 of us...
If you don't believe in science, don't take medicine or vaccines.
I'm not sure if you're an anti-truther nutter or you are that gullible and ignorant, that you actually believe the rubbish on climate you spout. Either way it's sad and I feel sorry for you, and please don't vote.
