do you believe Cousins has used illicit drugs out of comp?
hahahahahaha

thats twice youve tried to deflect the question, i asked you to state what you believe, and what evidence you might have, and you provide neither, twice. at least you spelled everything right this time i suppose

your looking shaky all of a sudden there mate

so tell me mate, since you are obviously clued in, going on what has been "admitted" and what is known from statements and evidence, not what people who werent there guess, what substances has cuz taken, and when?

notice i didnt say anything one way or the other about his use, i made no claims of what he took or didnt take, i was wondering what you think hes taken, how much, when and what evidence you have to support it

Are you calling his father a liar?

seems to me you are

So you would have no problem with say Tarrant and Johnson being suspended by the AFL last year for their "late night incedent".

In terms of bringing the game into disrepute

I would have thought Fevola's performance whilst representing Australia oversees would be the most applicable of any incedents of late

I'm not arguing. On the basis of acceptable social behaviours, you'd be lucky to field 5 blokes a side on some game days

no, he's saying that his father admitted he had a drug abuse problem. We don't know what drugs they were or when they were used. Which is needed to base any punishment on.
It's not that hard dude

thats three deflections. your really struggling here, arent ya.

i made no statements to cuz's use or non-use, so how could i contradict anything his father said? the only way that it would seem to you that i called him a liar, is if you misinterpreted what i said. you seem to do that alot.

so we have the father admitting cousins has a drug problem, we have the AFL boss saying that it was known since July that Colusins had a drug problem.

I dont know what more you need. Cousins has a drug problem. Whether he has admitted it to the club, or they found out of their own volition remains to be seen.

But they have danced around the issue and not denied it.

lets see how hard the AFL pursue it. My guess is they wont. But what WADA or ASADA do, may be a different kettle of fish.

You call them deflections, I'm just trying to make you question the stupidity of your stance.

The proof is in what others have said and that no-one has denied it. those that are very close to the situation. Both his father and Demetriou. If you dont accept them on their words because one is a continent away and the other is a suburb away, thats up to you. I believe them. Do you?

Which is of course is why it is so rarely used as it opens up the proverbial can of worms with the AFL trying to be the "moral police".

I don't think anyone is denying the fact he has a drug problem.

The issue is that we don't know what he has taken and when he as taken it. People are assuming its Ice or Coke.

For all we know it could be anti-depressants. I doubt it but who knows. We really can't comment until Ben comes out and tells everyone the full story.

Don't you agree with this??

so we have the father admitting cousins has a drug problem, we have the AFL boss saying that it was known since July that Colusins had a drug problem.
ahh, finally, we get down to it.

cuzs father stated that his son had a substance abuse problem. so what substance was he talking about? and how often as he using? is it a combination of stuff? illegal, prescription or sold over the bar?

the truth is you have no idea of the pattern of his drug use, or what it was, only that he was using something, and that its become a problem.

now apparently hes been taken 6 random tests since july, and more before, and its come back negative every time.

on top of that, he has performed at the highest level of football consistently, showing no signs of the degenerative effects of overuse.

the club suspended him for missing training twice on one day, after it happening a couple of times in the last few months

those are the only things that we know for sure.

you asked what i though, and this would be my guess based on the scant published facts and my own experiences

considering the negative tests and his lack of any negative physical effects last season, my guess would be that he is an alcoholic, with very occasional use of coke. i would also guess that it was minimal, once to three times a week drinking booze during season 2006, then once they won the premiership he went off the rails, drinking every day and ramping up his coke and/or ice use. i would still guess that the use of illicit drugs wouldnt be more than a few isolated times over the preseason, up to perhaps once or twice a week, because he still registered negative to random testing.

i would guess that his alcohol and coke use got so bad that his girlfriend dumped him, throwing him deeper into a depression that meant more alcohol, which ultimately led him to him missing training and the eagles suspending him, saying enough was enough

now i wont pedal that as the gods honest truth, but IMO its a lot more plausible (thats how you spell that word, by the way fu) that some of the silly stuff thats going around.

i have no doubt that cuz DOES have a problem, and drugs are a part of it, but chinese whispers and misinformation can make what little information that has been released into some truly stupid assertions.

im confident that cuz is NOT fighting a debilitating physical addiction to a drug (mainly because i know what that does to people and nobody could be a footballer with what it does to your body) and im hoping that cuz can get the counselling he needs to get over his depression, his need to get ****ed up, and get back to sort his life out and finish off his career at the top of his game.

i wouldnt be surprised if it only took a month or two to get him on track.

You call them deflections, I'm just trying to make you question the stupidity of your stance.
see once again your have trouble, i had no stance until #110.

and they were deflections mate, because you inexpertly misinterpreted what i said and tried to show these misinterpretations up as being "stupid".

first you asked the question i asked you right back at me, because you were having trouble with it

then you claimed i said cuz wasnt using drugs, which i didnt claim.

then you claimed i contradicted his father, which i also didnt do.

comprehension wasnt you best area in high school english, was it, mate

I think it was the drugs that gave him the edge.
That is part of the problem you (or certain journalists) THINK that this is what happened. However if any action were to be taken against ANY player that impacted on his ability to earn a living in his chosen profession without evidence being presented and the player having the opportunity to defend himself said player would be perfectly entitled to sue the AFL, and would probably win !

Is this why he has checked into The Malibu Centre, that "allegedly"specialises in methamphetamine addiction, at $180K reportedly, for the estimated length of his stay. All of which he is doing at his employers expenses. What other career offers these perks?

Entertainment Wrestling maybe?

No seriously I'm sure I heard that Ben paid for it himself.

If thats what you mean he earned his money fair and square and unfortunately has wasted it and is now paying for his stupid actions.

yeah, the malibu centre FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEMS. they deal with just about every substance abuse problem there is. Where would you have preferred he go??? no matter what he does you are going to say he's a junkie, doesn't matter if he went to a place that costs $200k, or if he went to see a counsellor at $20 a session.

As far as other careers that offer these 'perks', try being a securities trader in London. They can get annual bonuses of millions of pounds. That's what I call 'perks'! 180k is small potatoes given the revenue clubs generate from these players.

mate, at 180k, i suggest the malibu centers specialty will be "people with ****loads of money"

Your right. It was handled appallingly. Then you should know , being a Carlton fan.

What on earth is this supposed to mean? It just dribble. Honestly, the Eagles are the lowest, dirtiest club in the comp right now. I don't think you can compare yourselves to any other club and come out looking better, unless of course you are a typically blind WCE supporter, who despite the obvious, is still suffering from a case of transference, as your comment clearly confirms.

Winning the cup is the main aim, pi$$ing off opposition supporters is just a bonus.

Wow! Some of you WCE supporters really have no scruples eh?!

Yep, we are the new Carlton! Arrogant, successful and rich. And we really dont give a flying **** what supporters of struggling Melbourne clubs like your own think!
;)

Struggling? Hmph! Oh, you mean that little period of the last 5 years when the AFL steamrolled us. Mate, that period might represent a quarter of your clubs history, but it's just a drop in the ocean of ours. I suppose when your clubs history and culture is still shallow and embryonic, you begin to think 5 years represents a significant period of time.

If in doubt just roll out the "we have been around longer than you" defence.

My mates grandfather is 104 years old, he drools, he ****s and pisses in his own pants and he has no idea what day it is. But hey he has been around 104 years and you have to respect that - doesnt mean you'd swap spots with him though!
